Because our trip was out of high season, we had the entire ship for us. All sleeping and entertainment spaces were air conditioned and the staff was extremely friendly.

Quiet except for bar next door on the weekends is very loud until 2am. Ask for room away from street or Room 8. Best setting in town. Great food. Beautifully manicured grounds. Wonderful staff and owner is super friendly and speaks English. Watch the surfers at sunset from the bar. Try the Pisco Sour!

Hosteria Canoa is a gem of a resort in Canoa Ecuador. There are many things about Hosteria that make it special but first I must mention the staff. Walter, Gustavo, and really all the staff I met went out of their way to accommodate our every need during our stay. From extra cups of cafe con leche for breakfast (provided free daily) to providing watermelon juice, calling cabs for quick town trips, or being patient with our lack of knowledge of the Spanish language as we attempted to communicate using Google translate. In all my travels I have never felt so at home and well taken care of. The room we had, 104, was clean and comfortable. It was spacious and the beds were nice. The super hot showers were excellent. The grounds with the pool and sauna were very well kept and it was a joy watching the iguana perched atop a roof or high in the trees. The walk to town was also quick and easy either on the beach or along the adjacent road. The property was also very secure with staff present and available 24/7. I can't imagine staying anywhere else while visiting Canoa.

100% would love to stay here again. Leo was very generous and helpful. everything was so clean and location was so peaceful. it’s about a 20-30 walk down the beach to town..which wasn’t that impressive. you wake up to the sound of the birds and can relax on the patio in front of your room. kitchen was so clean and had everything I needed. I rented a surf board a 5 minute walk north at coconuts hostel and it was very easy. it was such a peaceful stay! thanks so much!
The best budget option in Bahia de Caraquez. Their quiet central location is close to everything, the staff were exceptionally friendly, room was a good size and spotlessly clean, aircon and fan kept the place nice and fresh. Although I did nto sue the pool, it looked very inviting.
