If you have come across bad reviews of this hotel, it is for you that I am taking some time to write this review, and I hope it doesn't sound as if I work for them. I just think this hotel deserves justice.
Before staying, I had read a couple of terrible reviews online, but as there were no other hotels available in the area, I ended up booking there, and I'm glad I did!
Most complaints I had read revolved around: no English speaking staff; uncleanliness; loudness around the room.
I came in not expecting much, but I was really, positively, surprised during my stay.
As I arrived, there was a friendly man in the reception who spoke with me in good English. As I gave my name, he referred me to my room, which was surprisingly clean and comfortable. Bed sheets and towels all seemed to be fresh and the room was as quiet as it could be.
To sum up: I had an amazing stay at this hotel at a very affordable price.
I'm not sure sure why there are a couple of bad reviews there, but I would assume those are old and management has read through the comments and done a really good job in fixing whatever needed fixing.
Overall an amazing experience to me

The Hotel is located on a busy road in the middle of a village. There is a nice restaurant within walking distance. The room was clean, but stay away from # 29: although the window reaches out to the quiet backyard, there are rented rooms above and the ceiling starts shaking in the middle of the night. We called the owners and they managed to calm things down. They also gave us a discount.

The host Barbara was the best host ever. She was really welcoming and helpful. The location of the hotel as well is really close to a nice walk on the side of the river that goes to the countryside.
The apartment is a 5min walk from the train station and it’s pretty easy to get to Dortmund from there. Unna is a quiet town and the apartment is located in a quiet street. Everything was extremely clean and ready for us at arrival. The host was super nice and provided us with all the info we needed beforehand. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for somewhere quiet to stay that is only a 25min train ride for Dortmund.
To have a private sauna was really fantastic. We used the appartment as homebase for our work to install an artwork for the Museum of LightArt in Unna. The appartmant was excactly right for our purpose. But also for a romantic wellnes getaway this is a wonderfull location. Everything was great and the hosts were fantastic and thinking with us, so just ask them when you have additional needs/requests.
I was greeted by the hotel owner as she heard me arrive on my motorbike. She was very nice and she helped me find electricity to charge my bike over night. There was a private party in the resturant but I still was able to enjoy a nice schnitzel dinner in the TV room. The breakfast was really good. Especially the scrambled eggs, they were amazing!
