Stade it my favorite town in Germany. Very beautiful with a rich history (the Danish, the Swedes, Napoleon, Kingdom Hannover, Prussia, etc. Arp Schnittger organs), picturesque, calm, and close to the fruit-growing area of the Altes Land.

Bit of a sleeper town. There is a very cozy square.
Bit of a sleeper town. There is a very cozy square. Super tacky food and really bad cocktails most places unfortunately
Tried to find an establishment with a bit higher standards with no luck.
If you stick with beer it will be ok.

We used this hotel as a stop off overnight on our way to Denmark. It was good value and location. Stade is a surprising interesting small town and you could happily spend more nights here.
Having one apartment with 2 bedrooms and 6 beds will suit some very well. It was basic but clean, and inexpensive.
The hotel is a 200-years old farmhouse with a surprising collection of various vintage stuff inside. Breakfast was served stylish with porcelain and looked fancy.
We stayed in 5min walk from our friends' house, so everything could not be better.
We had a overnight stay with 2 young kids. We stayed in the family room, which consist of 2 connecting rooms (one bathroom). Good size.
The hotel is very well located. Only 5-10 min walk to the town center.
