Everything was perfect. Beautiful location on the lake, with private terrace for sunbathing and swimming. Drinks beside the lake in the evening. Fantastic breakfast. Ample private parking behind the hotel. Spacious room with modern bathroom. Friendly staff. About 20 mins walk into town.

Hotel did advertise that it is situated along a railway, and even provided earplugs (and a very nice pillow spray). But it wasn't a problem with windows closed.

We were visiting the city due to the concert of Schiller but we also enjoyed a city as well. Castle and park area around that is definitely worthy visiting as well as some pubs and restaurants for local German food and beer.

The apartment was in a very central area of the old town and just a short walk to the Schloss which was very interesting with beautiful gardens on the lake.
Lieblingsnest apartment was very comfortable and well equipped but the bedroom was very cramped and had too little airflow. It really needed a ceiling fan. There were too many doors for such a small space.

Unexpectedly beautiful city. A lot of old and well kept houses, and a very extravagant castle.
Unfortunately not all of the city is well kept, but the overall impression is good.
There are several nice restaurants, and the Christmas market is very nice.
The city also have a lot of shopping opportunities, including shopping centers. Beware that the shopping centers have very few elevators and toilet facilities.

A very pleasant and picturesque city in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with good rail services for exploring the remainder of the state. There is a good range of shops, restaurants and bars. The Staatliches Museum Schwerin is highly-rated, but was closed at the time of writing (November 2022).

The lake is nice and also the city and the castle were a super cool visit.
Many shopping and restaurant options.
Definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to detach a bit from the etic lifestyle of the city.
Would stay between 1 and 3 days.

Great location, right by station entrance and 15 minute walk to old Town. Older hotel but clean spacious rooms. Has a coffee machine and other drinks in foyer available. Friendly staff.
