Generally speaking the hotel is very nice! Staff are nice and helpful. Restaurant and breakfast are really good. The room I had was well equipped and nice. The location next to the Maar is wonderful. The wellness part, well mostly the Finnish sauna and relaxing room, are quite nice. I had a wonderful stay.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't speak the language well, but this was never an issue. Breakfast was a good variety of foods and plentiful.

We expected a lovely view from our 2nd floor rooms but we only looked put over other rooftops. There is a small lake nearby/behind the establishment but a muddy pathway was not the best way forward. We would not visit Schalkenmehren again.
The location of the hotel is pleasantly quiet.
A few minutes walk to restaurants and hiking trails.
The host very kind and helpful, speaks very good English

Bed linen and towels are of high quality.
book in eat a great steak with a salad starter caramel dessert then walk the dog and a good sleep. far more food than you can eat for breakfast. Great staff what more do you want from a hotel.

The property was very easy to find and owners were very helpful even though it was a late booking, really friendly and would highly recommend to anyone especially if you are with a family it is the perfect place to get some rest.
