We attended a wedding and it was minutes away from the ceremony. Having said that, it is a place to enjoy hiking and it is beautiful. There is nothing else to do but enjoy nature.

We stayed here to do the Schnapps Hike (Die Schnapsbrunnenwege). The place was beautiful, quiet, conveniently located near restaurants and shops, and the rooms were spotless! Can't beat the view overlooking the vineyards. Coffee was a nice touch in the morning. Wonderful experience overall.

Sasbachwalden is a beautiful village in the foothills of the Black Forest. It is nestled in the middle of some of the finest vineyards of the Rhine Valley and is the home of the renowned Vintner's Coopérative, Winzergenossenschaft Alder Gott. The wines are pricey, but well worth the trip.
Visitors should not miss the hike up the " Gaishölle" waterfalls (there is also the option to take a public bus to the top of the falls and hike down. Coming out at the top, hikers are rewarded with a bteathtaking panorama of the Rhine Valley and, depending on the time of day, gorgeous sunset over the Vosges mountains of France on the other side. On a clear day, you can spot Straßburg Cathedral.

A very nice old village with old German architecture.
A very nice old village with old German architecture. A small center with few shops but many restaurants. Accommodation I guess it would be very nice in any hotel or pension from this village because of the nice surrounding's landscape. If you are here don't hesitate to taste the local wine Alde Gott - the Black Forest wine from their special shop on the main road.

The room I had was spacious and plenty of room for me and my motorcycle gear. The staff were all very polite and helpful. There was a very good explanation of the facilities on arrival. The pool was open and there was a sauna for guest use. There is not a bar per se but an area where you can serve yourself drinks and pay later and coffee and tea available. The local village is down the hill where there are good German restaurants however if you are not very mobile then walking down hill is ok, but it is very steep on the return.
Breakfast is superb. Wide choice of hot and cold options. Plenty of parking. I have stayed here before. and came back again with friends. Very good restaurant and reasonable prices for food and beer! We were well looked after by Brandon who was on a hotel management placement - Terima Kasih! Schnapps fountain with an honesty box at the top road by the pizza oven. Fantastic views out to Strasbourg on a clear day.
Beautiful hotel, good combination of traditional elements and modern touches in the interior. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Restaurant was very good (we especially liked tapas night on Thursday). Large parking just in front of the hotel is very convenient. Situated in the beautiful village of Sasbachwalden.
Ultra modern ‘Grand Designs’ style apartment with all the facilities you need. parking is easy and great location to village of Sasbachwalden (albeit up the hill from it). some great walks in the local area, the Schnappsbrunnen trail being an unusual highlight.
Beautiful apartment, nice balcony and rooftop terras. Good location, amazing views. Bakery around the corner (but also possibly to have breakfast in de restaurant on the ground floor). Owners are very accommodating and respond quickly to our questions.
