Clean and efficient. Nice people at the reception.
History never Lies - and Rosenheim has PLENTY.
It suited us as a base to "venture" of to the Palace of King Ludwig 11 on Herrenchiemsee.
The train journey from Rosenheim to Prienam am Chiemsee of 16 minutes then the transfer, short 50 mitres walk to catch the Historical 13 minutes "narrow" gauge train sometimes steam train but we were "Diesel" pulled - very USER friendly.
The ferry port of Prien / Stock Harbour which the "little" train drops you off is Magnificent.
You are practically on the Ferry Dock(s) - to commence - "board" the Ferry - of your island(s) adventures.

This apartment was amazing!
This apartment was amazing! One of the best kitted apartments I’ve rented. The only negative was the location - predominately light industrial. However, there are 3 grocery stores & a shopping center within easy walking (less than 1/4 mile). Plus, if arriving by train, the train stop is directly behind the building. It’s an easy drive to the historic old town which houses an incredible wood museum!

We came to Rosenheim to visit family, but it is a charming small city with quaint city center and lovely surrounding countryside. We enjoyed the walking trails along the river within sight of the alps. We enjoyed local festivals and good food. We used it as a launching point to visit Munich and Oberammergau, Germany; Vienna and Kufstein, Austria; and Florence/Tuscany, Italy by train.

Only stayed one night.
Only stayed one night. It is a good hotel, with a restaurant serving local dishes and big pints of beer (if you are so inclined) :-) We enjoyed our stay and can recommend this hotel as an "etappe* for driving to the skiing slopes in Austria. In summer apparently one is not too far away from a huge lake, so I can imagine that must be quite nice as well. Internet could have been better. It was rather weak in the ground room where we were staying. The lighting also was of the "indirect" kind and was a bit gloomy, but otherwise everything was correct and the room was HUGE :-) We'll definitely stay there again.

Visiting in winter.
Visiting in winter.
Not much to do and everything closes quite early.
We also travlled without a car and had to rely on PT, busses end early on weekend and a bit hard to do much.
There is a shopping centre and a cinema but not any museums or sightseeing in the town.
Food is good and cheap and there is some shopping.
If you are coming especially for a Europe trip, I would skip Rosenheim as there are more exciting destinantions.

Stayed 2 nights when visiting Munich. 10 min walk from train station, facilities nice/clean, adequate space, front desk staff pleasant and helpful. Private bathroom and shower ok, didn't buy breakfast but looked popular with other guests. Originally chose this hotel/location for price compared to Munich and when planning to also visit Schloss Herrenchiemsee (had to cancel that... ran out of time).
Another hotel very close to main roads, so convenient for a quick stay over one night. The area is relatively industrial and because the restaurant was closed meant having to find alternative food. Room was relatively cramped but comfortable and well equipped.
Hotel interior architecture is very unique and interesting. Done in the middle age style, it was somewhere between Camelot and the Hobbit Houses. Remarkable and very enjoyable.
The waiting staff are dressed as Monks, which brings alot of atmosphere
The beds were very comfortable. The room was spacious. An excellent breakfast with a wide choice. Hotel is ideally located.
Housekeeping staff were very efficient and helpful
The hotel is in a very quiet location but close to the town. Parking is right outside and free. Breakfast was extensive and very good. Staff was helpful and friendly.
