The room was really lovely. Nicely decorated with enough space and storage. When closed, the outside shutters on the windows meant that the room was extremely dark at night, which I appreciated.
The breakfast buffet was also very good. Lots of fresh produce to choose from and decent value.

This is literally a hotel of two halves. The “castle” rooms (think large house rather than castle) are clean but very dated and no aircon. We asked to upgrade and were shown to an excellent modern room in a separate building with superb views over the city. Reception staff were very welcoming and tried hard to look after us. Basically the old rooms are certainly NOT worth the rating or cost in my opinion - the new rooms definitely are.
We ate at the hotel and whilst the food was very good, dinner for two was €200 without any expensive wine. The location is sufficiently far from the city centre that you might well choose to stay so just prepare yourself for good food but at a price.
Breakfast was also perfectly good - the usual arrangements of a German breakfast with eggs, bacon and sausage as hot options.
The view from the terrace is lovely.
