Very clean hotel. Seems to be newer. Comfortable room. Extremely friendly staff. They welcomed our pet as well.
Parking was across the street. Apprx 8 spaces with 2 being for electric charging. Quiet area. Everyone was very friendly. Restaurant Kunz across the street gets very busy, so make reservations if you plan to eat dinner here. Balcony is small, shared and uncovered. Need more pillows on the bed for sure 👍

Everything was perfect as it was showed in Booking photo, it was clean in every corner of the house, and fantastic view from all windows of the house.
The host was so friendly, and understandably, even I arrived late that night, he answered my call directly and realy friendly talking.
If I will come back again, I definitely chose the same locations.

I lived in Pirmasens many years ago and it was a great place...
I lived in Pirmasens many years ago and it was a great place. However, 20 years ago the EU took all of the manufacturing jobs from the area and sent them to Romania which, resulted in widespread unemployment in that entire region. The city is no longer as pretty as it formerly was and still has mass unemployment. However, its still a good base to make excursions from to see the many Castles in the area as well as trips just across the border to Bitche and Staussberg France. Heidleburg and the Mosel River are also a reasonable drive away. Its also a good place to start a trip to Paris ( easy 5 hour drive) as well as other places like Reims.

The hotel we stayed in was in Winzeln and in a neighborhood.
The hotel we stayed in was in Winzeln and in a neighborhood. Not much to see or do there, but quiet and relaxing. Drove to other areas during the day.
We ate breakfast & dinner at the Hotel Kunz in Winzeln as it is a sister hotel to Emils. Very good food. Warm and cozy atmosphere. You can only add your breakfast to your room bill. Dinner is paid at the time of dining. Staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive😊👍👍👍

I went to Die Brasserie Restaurant.
I went to Die Brasserie Restaurant. A Michelin place just off Pirmasens down town. This place is worth the travel. Great food, great wines, great ambiance. Pirmasens is not a touristic destination but Die Brasserie is a must if you like fine dinning.

If you're visiting, it's likely for the Rodalben Felsenwanderweg. It doesn't disappoint. Great hiking, well maintained and marked trails. Beautiful. The town is uninspiring, but not unpleasant.

Pirmasens is easy to get around.
Pirmasens is easy to get around. I visit on an annual basis by car (English model right hand drive). The one way system is easily learnt - google maps can help with preparation stage.
Alt Pirmasens restuarant offers local fare in typical German Knieper/ Gasthof surrounds - staff are friendly, helpful and speak good English.
Hotel was really nice, clean and correct. When booked hotel expected it to be more old-school, although hotel rooms were light and bright, well maintained. We had a table in the room where we could do our office works, internet was good, communication in the hotel was modern and up-to-date. All members of our family enjoyed the hotel. Would return and would recommend to others.
Great value for money.
Good location to drive to lots of nearby hiking trails.
Good choice of restaurants in Pirmasens (although hotel is quite a long way out of the centre) - quite a lot of the other (smaller) towns in the area have limited restaurant availability.
breakfast was good the room was spacious and the beds comfortable ...the most covenient thing was rge excelent Itallian restaurants attached to the hotel
