The room we stayed in was large, chic and included an amazing and comfy bed. The bathroom was big and included an excellent shower.
FOOD
Although we did not have breakfast, we did dine in the restaurant on the evening time. The location, on the veranda was superb, with great views down to the lake. The waiting staff were very helpful and pleasant. The menu was limited but all the food we had was presented and delivered to a good quality.
LOCATION
The hotel is just next to the monastery and the parking is just across from the hotel in a discrete barrier controlled car park (we initially parked in the public parking the other side of the road as we did not know this). Access to the car park is via room card, so I would recommend you pull up outside the hotel, off load your luggage and check in. Then you will be able to park your car. My wife loves wild swimming and the location by the lake was great, although you need to go a couple of Kms up the road to the campsite to be able to swim.
The Hotel Burgklause, situated in the middle of the town of Nickenich, appears bright and modern amidst the typical dark slate of its neighbouring buildings.

We stayed in the Seehotel - a lovely place with great attention to detail. We enjoyed a walk round the lake (just over 8 km) and are looking forward to walking other routes next time. We ate at the Blockhaus on the lake and the cafeteria near the church, and would heartily recommend both. Everything is reachable on foot. The wider region offers many attractions, many of which are reachable by bus. Maria Laach is a wonderful destination.

As Travellers we took the bus from Mendig. Its a peaceful location, lots of walking tracks. There is a small supermarket next to Abbey and Hotel. Suggest lakeview room. Hotel restaurant was enjoyable, good food. We will go back and stay.
The location near the abbey is quite unique. The rooms are modern with a nespresso machine, a small fridge stocked with complimentary biers, water and cola, and the breakfast, in my opinion, is excellent. While they don't have a gym at the hotel, they do a peloton bike with a subscription that you can have delivered to your room for a workout. That's a great idea, especially when the weather is cold, dark and rainy.
Beautiful hotel, clean, bright and elegant. Nice staff, great food, wonderful surroundings. Good bathroom and showers, water pressure etc is perfect. Very relaxing. Stunning area. They allow dogs which is great.
