We visited Marburg every day of our stay. There is every style of restaurants serving all types of food. There is a beautiful castle to walk around the exterior and the views are outstanding. The city was exceptionally clean and good value for money. I preferred the old town but there were benefits to both new and old. Well worth a visit.

Such a quaint beautiful idyllic German town.
Such a quaint beautiful idyllic German town. In the mountains. A university town. The Oberstadt, up the mountain, is a world unto its own. Recommend as getaway.
The churches, the castle, ruins, all in and round about Marburg. Transpirtation seemed to be good and reliable. Easy train-ride from Frankfurt.

If you are not in great fitness condition, the undulation of the "Old Town" could test you.
The "Old Town" would not be a choice for me to take a "loved one" who has mobility problems, or requires a wheel-chair of mobility assistance.
Provision of (2) two elevators to take you up into the "Old Town" wonderful concept.
We walked up to the Schloss, which is a MASSIVE cardio-vascular test, but the beauty of the old houses and scenery, quite breathtaking.
The number 10 bus should be considered if you don't wish to walk it.
Walking around the Schloss, the views out and around and over Marburg, joyous.
Walk to our apartment from the Hauptbahnhof was a flat walk, of at an easy pace 15 minutes.
It exceeded our expectations, and supermarkets near, pleased us from a convenience point of view, for the few needs we required in our apartment.
If Germany is on your "Bucket List" - you must include Marburg.

The flat downstairs and was nice, cool and comfortable on the very warm days we had in Marburg. The beds are large and comfortable and the kitchen has got everything you need. Bathroom with shower works well. You can sit outside in the garden and it is a nice quiet place. The area is may be not the most pictures but it’s practical cloth the shops and bus.

I lived in Marburg for about five years and absolutely loved it! Fachwerk houses, a beautiful cathedral, a wonderful castle and the Altstadt are exceptional. One can ride boats on the Lahn River, or go for hikes through the hills. Fantastic museums, restaurants and many shopping opportunities make it a place that should be on anyone's list of places to visit in Germany.

I hate hotels and this was a charming flat (Altbau) with lots of character, a home from home. location was brilliant, flat clean, bedrooms spacious, beds quite decent. The kitchen was simple but tasteful and more than enough for our stay
