The staff was very friendly and helpful, it's one of the reasons I'd return. The tropics-under-dome concept is very intriguing and I think it's definitely worth a visit. They're building more attractions, so there'll be something to look forward to every year. If they find a major investor, there are a lot of additions that could be made to make the place more amazing, like an artificial storm, though water dropping down from the dome in the evening reminds me of that, haha.

The hotel is very nice and pretty. The room was very comfortable, well cleaned and although small, well planned. We got an upgrade to a room with a nice balcony with view to the river. They have direct contact to the brewery and they have nice food and its a pretty place to eat. Staff was nice and helpful when we had questions before arriving. They also have a parking place for free, which was nice.
The city is quite small so the hotel is basically in the main street. We went there on winter to do a whisky tasting in a place almost in front of the hotel, which i also recommend, so it's a cool getaway for a weekend out of Berlin. (they seem to have boats and kayaks, but it was cold so we did not try that out).

I spent there 4 days and it was the worst experience ever! The food was bad and overpriced all over the place, but you are kind of stuck there... First night the whole family of 4 got food poisoning from one of the restaurants there. Those who managed to throw up were lucky, cause the rest was feeling sick till the end of our stay ;/ There was a poop floating in children pool. In the big pool something touched my leg - surprise! surprise! a DIAPER! Our room was not cleaned during these 4 days, we had to put the trash outside the door to be picked up. There was always a queue to service desk, so we didn't even manage to report it.

Tropical Islands means to me to stay in nice warm weather - 24.2C is not sufficient and it was really cold when step up from 32degrees pool.
Many places were closed without any warning upon arrival. Big slides were under reconstruction, ok, article on web site, but no price compensation, minigolf-closed, BoraBora lounge - closed, half of kid's playground - closed. Smell from slide construction was touchable in half of hangar.
I need to mention 1.5h gueue before we could enter the Islands. Any ideas for improvement to speed up the process? I was terribly dissapointed and once you pay entrance and night, you stay, because of kids but I guess it is not what succesfull managemant wants.

The hotel is nice although not the newest, but clean. Personnel nice and helpful. Breakfast was ok, standard choice. The choice of Food in the restaurant ar the dinner was really limited. Tasted ok but it was hard to choose if you do not want heavy food or you are with children. Chicken nuggets is not our best choice for a child but we had to go for it as all the rest was not for children. We used it as a base for the Tropical Islands and this was a good choice
