Great location for exploring by train and boat - town is just busy enough to have lots of places to eat and explore but not so much that it felt congested or overwhelming. We loved the area and look forward to returning.

As my ancestors were residents of Konstanz I have visited a few times.
It is still a beautiful city. However it is becoming very busy, which brings it's problems.
Noticeably it is unclean in places and the soul of the place is being lost.

Konstanz is a fabulous place to visit.
Konstanz is a fabulous place to visit. Ferries seem to be crossing the lake even in winter, there are thermal baths (Thermen) with views of the foothills of the Alps, the old town is beautiful, and you can walk along the lakefront. Snowy times must be beautiful here - I've see fabulous pictures of this (and the Christmas market has been recommended to me). Just before Lent there is the fantastic Fastnacht festival, which is a wonderful family occasion, including the Saturday morning children's parade (and gathering on the Markstatte), which is less crowded than the Sunday one (one tip for the larger Sunday event is to walk to the start of the parade area where it is less crowded and where little ones can see better). In summer there is swimming in the lake, a large open-air swimming pool with slides, right beside the thermal baths, the floral peninsula of Mainau, the wonderful Reichenau pensinsula with its monastery and walks, and trips to local sights by train and ferry. Cycling is easy, and there are city bikes (and in February 2024 also scooters).

The unique location and position very close to the centre but with a very cozy access and view to the beautiful lake. The food choice at the buffet for the breakfast and the staff kindness and availability were the cherry on top. Also services like private beach with towels, parking and so on give definetely an added value to the experience.
The kitchen is useful, with a small oven. The location is nice, very near to Bodensee. There's a bus stop in front of the hotel and can go downtown easily. Parking in the hotel is free if no reservation is made.
