Kirchhundem is very silent. There are almost no cafe's or restaurants. The few we saw were all closed.

One, the Alpenhouse, had a refrigerator outside and a tiny box for money so we had a drink but no interaction with staff. The terrace offered a wonderful view of the surroundings.
As our hotel Gut Ahe had a very nice kitchen it was not a real problem that there were no other facilities to have a drink or a meal but if you like to eat at different places while on holiday then Kirchhundem is not te place to be.
But if you like to walk hours through beautiful woodlands and hilly countrysides then you will love it there.

Extremely friendly and forthcoming hotel manager! Allowed me to use the hotels garden hose and water to wash my bike. Very friendly staff. Comfortable and clean rooms. Restaurant serves really nice meals and breakfast service is greate!
The hotel is located at a beautiful quiet place. The breakfast was good and the host was very kind. They had a safe place for my bike in the garage for the night so that was very nice.
