When we arrived and wanted to check in to our three booked rooms we had to find out that there were only two rooms left due to a booking system failure.
Anyway they’ve organized and found a solution for all of us to get a room in this hotel. Also the hotel offers a store room for bycicles which is absolutely recommendable for bike packing trips!

Fascinating medieval old town centre on an island in the Elbe. Very atmospheric. Lots to do in the neighbourhood. Interesting archaeological museum. Reconstructions of Bronze Age buildings and artefacts - research centre - “practical archaeology” approach.
Easy reach of Luneburg
Room was bigger than expected. it was clean and bed was comfortable. Hotel provides a good Wifi connection.
Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant is also exceptional. If I need to go Hitzacker or nearby cities, I will definetely stay Hotel Hitzacker again.
