This is not a 4-star hotel, it is to large extent simple in its rooms and facilities but a place with amazing history from about 1000 A.D. to East German times. If you enjoy remarkable places but do not require polished 3-star (or above) conditions, this place might amaze you. I would have loved to roam the castle buildings as a kid. The hotel was easy to find and, though the hotel carpark was full, we parked very close by on the town square for free. The receptionist and I had lots of fun communicating in the bits of mutual language we had! The town is sweet with a few sights, nice place to walk around and great bakeries close to the hotel for breakfast and lunch purchases. We had dinner at the hotel and it was very nice, if a little salty (the goulash) - but then I do not overly season so I do find this on the continent. The room was large and beautifully appointed, with a bowl of apples, lots of bottles of water and a kettle etc. Good place to stop for a driving break!
