It serves good continental breakfast, and I thoroughly appreciate the warm croissants served right out of ovens.
I also appreciate the very responsive staff (Jorg Groninger) in promptly replying my various queries and requests prior to my stay.
The dinner staff at restaurant has great sense of humour, and the room service staff is also friendly.

Lovely room, quiet, clean, spacious. You are very close to Alzenau (3 minutes) and Frankfurt (35 minutes), but it feels luke you’re far away, in the midst of nature (the Kahl river runs right behind the hotel). The staff are super friendly, there is gourmet (really excellent) food in the restaurant, all five-star range. Steffen and Torsten, the two owners, went out of their way to accommodate my special requests, e.g. late breakfasts. And they have a lovely dog called Emma. Had a hugely enjoyable stay and will definitely come back.

This accommodation is excellent for a visit to Hesse, to Gelnhausen and Steinau auf der Strasse for the Brother Grimm region. It is also excellent if you are travelling via Frankfurt airport as it is only 50kms away. You need a car and Freigericht isn't a tourist town in its own right, but it was an excellent location to explore the region and great value for money.
