Located near central Germany, Frankfurt is not simply the beating heart of the country, it’s also the lifeblood of the European Union.
The German Federal Bank and the European Central Bank are based here, so naturally this is a city where commerce thrives. In fact, the skyline is so punctuated by skyscrapers that Frankfurt is affectionately known as Mainhattan, a pun on the Main River that slowly meanders through the city.
Lining its banks is Museumsufer, a district with over 20 museums including Goethe’s birthplace and the Frankfurt Historical Museum. The tower of the Gothic-style Frankfurt Cathedral, which played an important role in the Holy Roman Empire, has impressive views of it all.
In the shadow of the modernist architecture remain traces of quintessential Germany. The reconstructed half-timbered facades in Römer square are picture perfect, and the cobbled streets of Fressgass are always full of locals deciding which café to dine at.
Served by Frankfurt Airport - one of the world’s busiest - this pumping city is always on the move. This means that hotels in Frankfurt get booked up pretty quickly, so book early with Booking.com to secure the accommodations of your choice.

Always double check the reviews of the hotels near the Railway Station! We initially went to Europa Style, which advertise themselves as a 4star hotel, but in reality are a nightmare in terms of maintenance and hygiene. Frankfurt os a very dirty city.

We went for the Christmas markets and the location of this hotel was just perfect.
It is also in the up market shopping area with all the designer shops if you need some last minute Christmas shopping.
By night we found plenty of restaurants and bars that kept us out till the small hours.
We came from the UK so landed at the airport and the train (at the airport) took us direct from the airport into the centre in 18 minutes. The hotel was a 5-minute walk from there.
A great weekend we might even do it next year !

The Christmas Market there was top notch. The prettiest calliope we've ever seen. Walkable to the Main square, nice walk along the river. We'd stay there again as an overnight and day of the city.

We stayed at this hotel as it was relatively close to the airport in the direction that we were heading the next morning. We arrived late and used a lock box to obtain our room key. The room was clean and comfortable, not overly large but great for our needs. We had a nice breakfast in the morning which was included in our very reasonable price. The staff were very prompt at addressing our need for a late check in and were very friendly when we went for breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend.

ICE train from Belgium to Frankfurt had works on line (since late November and we travelled on 5th of December) which was a strain on two young boys having to get alternative trains late at night. Go to older (in 40s/50s) staff at train station in Frankfurt to help and not younger ones as were not one bit helpful and almost enjoyed our difficulty in trying to arrange alternative journeys back. More experienced staff very helpful. City itself has a lot to offer with a large zoo, an amazing museum and skyscrapers all within local transport distances. A bit expensive but so is every European city. We enjoyed the different Christmas markets and local cuisine and went to Maredo for lunch. A walk over the bridges at need is beautiful.

Visit Frankfurt! Very walkable. Friendly people.
Visit Frankfurt! Very walkable. Friendly people. It does help to be able to speak German, but not necessary. Most anyone you meet can fill in with English for what you are trying to say. My new favorite hotel is the Steigenberger hotel. We visited for Christmas shopping in cities that were easily accessible by train: Heidelberg, Köln, Stüttgart, and Nüremberg.

Very nice place to stay when relocating to Frankfurt. It's more expensive than a long-term rental, but cheaper than any hotel of similar quality. Great rooms - newly renovated, have all equipment and amenities (even kitchen with a dishwasher), super comfortable bed, high quality bathroom. The staff was very helpful as well. Location is great if you need to travel to the city center/office area, 10-minute walk to the S-Bahn station and another 10 minutes by S-Bahn.
This was my third time in Motel One (first in Frankfurt) so I knew what to expect and it met my expectations again. The hotel didn't seemed overbooked so it was very quiet, which was nice. I must mention the bed and all the pillows that were provided, one of the comfiest out there! Had an excellent sleep! The location is also great, a 10 to 15 minutes tram ride to the city center and the tram stop is right in front of the hotel entrance.
The hotel has a good location, in a safe and pleasant area. There is a metro station very close (3 minutes) that gives access to the city center, the central station and, still (bonus), the airport with a single line. It is also possible to walk to the old town (about 30 minutes). Breakfast is very good with many food options.
- the location:
located right in the main square of old town Frankfurt, unbeatable location, you walk out of the hotel and it was full of life, many restaurants, cafes, Christmas markets etc
- very good price and quality
- self check in was easy
- room was big, bright and spacious
The staff were extremely helpful. The breakfast was way beyond what I expected for a budget hotel in the city centre. I would definitely recommend this hotel, near tram stops to get to old town & very near main station for airport access.
