The hotel had fabulous breakfast options, loads of choice.
Quiet area to stay. Easy walk into town
Evening restaurant staff were friendly.
The rooms were a reasonable size.
The town is one of the most beautiful places we have visited across Germany, plenty bars and restaurants to eat and drink, not touristy just the way we like it. If you like old, quaint buildings this is the place to visit. I would recommend this hotel.

It is a very beautiful town with a lot of historical buildings, a beautiful small castle and in the middle of a wine region. The white wine there was amazing, and the restaurants make great local food.

Esslingen is a small, medieval town just two S-Bahn or regional train stops from Stuttgart (less than 10 minutes). It's very central to many places you may want to visit in the state of Baden-Wuerttemburg. For me, it made the perfect "home base." The town is small, so quiet and not overly touristy, but big enough to keep you busy wandering the streets of the old town, shopping, eating, and hiking up into the vineyards for a couple of days. Very historic feel with lots of photogenic old buildings and cobblestone streets. Excellent Swabian restaurants as well as a good mix of international cuisines. The opportunities to taste wine and walk in the vineyards and up to the Burg (fort) were an added bonus.

Esslingen is a historic town southeast of Stuttgart.
Esslingen is a historic town southeast of Stuttgart. It has a very lovely downtown area, and reasonable shopping. It is served by the S banh surface train that goes to Stuttgart in 20 minutes or so. It is next to where the Mercedes-Benz factory is located.
From Esslingen you can take short trips to many other nice historical locations. Driving a car is a must but Germany is one of the best countries to drive I know.

Esslingen is a great town to visit.
Esslingen is a great town to visit. It is more than one thousand years old and has a lot of historical monuments.
Strolling through the "Altstadt" with the old houses and the many outdoor cafes is a real pleasure.

We have been to Esslingen from Stuttgart for the mediaeval Christmas market. We wanted to see it during May so went for4 days. Esslingen is a beautiful town. Many small streets with great building, so impressive postcard looking. You can wander to the market square so many different ways. Lovely restaurants and coffee and cake places to eat and chat. When we go to Stuttgart Christmas market again we will stay in Esslingen and travel to Stuttgart from there.

We had a free upgrade to the rooms with the extra bed up a circular staircase.
Comfortable bed but pillows weren't the best.
Good shower (enclosed) and a decent breakfast, although the cornflakes were awful and I had a problem getting builders tea....so drank the coffee (good).
Had a good walk around Esslingen....beautiful town and had a good meal in Kielmeyers Besen (the liver was very good).
I stayed to see a EURO 2024 match in Stuttgart and the place was great. Very near public transport (bus is across the street) and we could get to the Stuttgart stadium in 30 mins. Comfortable and large rooms, very clean and the breakfast was really great (lots of fruit and veg), Esslingen is also quite a quiet place so it was great to have a comfy place to retire to after an active day.
