The location was lovely, and the staff were really welcoming, allowing us to use the water boards and even borrow some of the staffs bikes for ride around the lake.

Breakfast was very good. We had half board, and the dinner (buffé style) was OK. Location just at the border of the center was very good. Parking in garage was perfect.

We were travelling to attend ice skating competition in Ilmenau. And couldn’t find any available hotel over there. This hotel was on some distance, but the stuff was super friendly and give a ride next morning after the breakfast directly to ice skating stadium. And location is absolutely amazing- beautiful forest and mountains!
This was a fantastic unexpected stay. The location and character of the hotel are fascinating. The exterior may be old, but the rooms are fully renovated. Due to road closures, the host was most helpful in guiding us to the hotel. And breakfast was the best of our holiday.
I was excited by medieval castle, which has been carefully upgraded into top class hotel.
Reality absolutely exceeded my expectations, and, of course - I was surprised how carefully was receptionist. She showed me main parts of the castle.
Hotel in a beautiful old castle. Very friendly staff. Perfect breakfast. Restaurant closed but still possibility to order evening meal. Quiet place with beautiful views. Good place for visiting Thuringian Forest.
