I can only confirm what the others have said already - it is a fantastic place to stay and a great point to either have a break on the A4 highway or to explore the city. Comfortable spacious rooms (even the basic ones), delicious breakfasts (there was even a sfesh guacamole!), and very nice people working there. I will definitely come back!

I come and go to Dresden often, for business. A charming town, with opera house and a top-notch painting gallery of old masters. Good restaurants and -if you have time and a car- nice surroundings. (Of course it is not, say, Berlin - for better or worse.)

I've been there a few times for Christmas markets.
I've been there a few times for Christmas markets. Besides Colmar in France they're the best (and much closer). Much better than Nuremberg or Regensburg. I also made the mistake of going to Berlin for Christmas once, not what that town is good at.
I'm not much of a siteseer. I rate my trips on the basis of (in order) food, fun, vibe (which, I guess, is part of fun) and unusual shopping. So, I suppose Dresden does have some interesting sights I've never seen (besides the hygiene museum, which sounded so off the wall that I had to visit) and so cannot recommend. What I can recommend, however, is the street food and the interesting things I can find in shops there, but not at home..

Dresden is a charming city, especially magical during the holiday season with its lovely Christmas markets, perfect for soaking up festive cheer. A dinner at Paulaner im Taschenbergpalais comes highly recommended for delicious Bavarian cuisine in a cozy setting. The hotel is right opposite the main Dresden railway station. There are shops in the station (Lidl) and around the corner (REWE), should you feel peckish. You get a FREE pass to use the local transport system in the city during your stay. Just jump on board the trams! The hotel is very quiet! Even rooms facing the railway station. There is a fridge in the room Very valuable for cold drinks etc. You can easily walk to the city centre, should you prefer to do that.
We had a very nice stay in this hotel. There is a lovely inner yard where one can sit with a glass of wine and enjoy time. It's possible to rent bikes and to travel around, the hotel kindly puts some water for you in the basket of the bike. The city centre is withing 10 minutes walk and you have a lovely view on the city from the hotel. Beautiful place to stay in Dresden.
The hotel is placed in very convinient localization - few steps to old town or to tram stops. Breakfasts were standard yet tasty and diverse. Only complain is missing air conditioning in rooms, which was real pain when I was visiting Dresden (>33 Celcius degreeses). Overall I'm happy with my stay there and can easily recommend.
The hotel has a very convinient location - 8 minutes walk from Dresden Neustadt railway station and 5 minutes by tram to the old town (or 20 minutes walk). The room is very modern and clean, the breakfast is really good.
Very modern hotel near Dresden Mitte station. Room was excellent. About a 15 minute walk to the city centre. Very good air conditioning.Very good local restaurant around the corner.
