Founded by the Romans in 38 BC and idyllically located on the Rhine River, Cologne offers the perfect blend of historical and modern Germany. There’s no place more picturesque to drink a Kolsch beer and eat a schnitzel than on the banks of the River Rhine. Here you’ll find the Altstad, or Old Town, with the impressive Cologne Dom on the skyline.
Visitors to Cologne in November can dance the days away at the Carnival Parade. In December, no trip to Cologne’s magical Christmas markets is complete without a steaming mug of Gluhwein.
The charm extends to other seasons as well, thanks to the medieval wonders of the Cologne Cathedral and the Twelve Romanesque churches. Learn about the city’s history at the Roman-Germanic Museum or take a postmodern approach at Museum Ludwig. Whether historic or culinary, a trip to the Chocolate Museum can complete any tour.
Booking.com offers 260 different accommodations, ranging from apartments to mid-budget hotels to guest houses. So whether you’re stepping out of a plane at the Cologne Bonn Airport or a shop on Hohe Strasse, you will be sure to have a cozy room for those cool European nights.
The hotel is old and antiquated. There is no air conditioning. The hotel rating by booking.com is much higher than it should be. They must pay higher commissions to booking.com to have them upgrade the rating. A 2-star hotel at best and not good value. Would not have stayed there if I had known the features of the hotel.

Nice Party city with a lot of interesting places to see.
Nice Party city with a lot of interesting places to see. Probably you need 3 or 4 days to discover the interesting pubs and restaurants. I recommend Lukas Podolski's kebab. I've tried it on Neumarkt. But all restaurants between the Dome and Neumarkt are fine.
Avoid the homeless begging for money around the main railway station and the Dome.

Cologne (Koeln) is a great city with many things to do.
Cologne (Koeln) is a great city with many things to do. Most impressive is the cathedral (Dom) and all the other medieval structures throughout the city center. If you want to try a really delicious kebab (Döner) go to one of the 15 mangal Döner X Lukas Podolski.

Even on a Thursday, Köln had a really relaxed, accessible atomosphere and lots to do within a relatively small space. We were only there one night & never further than a kilometre from our accommodation but still got to shop, see the river, climb the cathedral towers, visit a museum, enjoy music along the river. It seems like a great place, I definitely ant to go back to visit the chocolate museum at least!

Wonderful city for a city trip.
Wonderful city for a city trip. Visit the tourist info for all the latest. Take a tour through the cathedral. A brother from the Catholic church guided us through the Dom, which was very interesting. Also visit Brühl from Cologne (30 minute trip) if you have the chance for Unesco Heritage site. Visit the Ludwig Museum. There are plenty of those. Lovely inner city, great shopping destination. What's not to like?
The spa was the best feature of the hotel but unfortunately as an Irish man i wasnt use to nudity in a spa and as a result only visited the spa once. I spoke to my German friends who said this was normal in Germany. I can't really complain about that but wish i knew before booking as we only stayed in this hotel to use the spa.
The location is perfect. Very close to the city centre, also the tram stop is right in front of the hotel. Rooms, bedding, bathrooms were all very clean and comfortable. Also the staff were nice and helpful. The hotel was very good beyond my expectation. If I go to Cologne again, I would prefer to stay here. Thanks!
Hotel situated in a relatively quiet semi-industrial area, about 5 minutes walk from the tram (U-bahn) line with direct connection to Cologne City Centre (about 20 minutes tram ride). Friendly staff and the usual 'no-nonsense' basic but convenient rooms and breakfast.
Location was good. Travelled for a game in Cologne so hotel was about midway between the city centre and the stadium. Breakfast was fine, maybe could of been slightly more choice but then I was late to arrive so maybe getting there earlier pays.
Warm and welcoming reception and impeccable service from start to finish. Great hotel located next to the Cologne Cathedral in the city centre.
Loved the beautiful spacious room and everything was perfectly in order.
Thanks for a great stay,
Randy
