This is a great place to see a 400 year old city and very pleasant, small and walkable old town. The quietness but attractiveness of Celle is really great. The castle is the home of the English royal family so the historical importance of Celle is multi-national. Spend at least 2 days here.

Celle is my hometown, it was my first visit in 11 years.
Celle is my hometown, it was my first visit in 11 years. I was disappointed that parking was very poor, specially for handicapped people like myself! Evidently foreign handicap placards are not recognized or accepted by parking officials. I received 2 tickets for parking in a handicap spot, in spite of displaying my handicap placard! Traffic is a nightmare. Sadly, I don't think I'll return again.

Celle was as a hidden pearl to us.
Celle was as a hidden pearl to us.
We chose to stay there because it is near Belgium. 500 km to go to end our road trip through the North of Germany.
It is a renaissance city with lovely houses, nice church, and a nice castle.
Not too big with shopping facilities.
We made a walk around the city and visited the castle and the park.
At the end of july there was a wine-market.

Celle was unknow to us, but I have German family and it was suggested as a location to all meet up for a Christmas get together. on this and also the time of year, this was a great choice and also a fantastic Christmas market.
We have had a good time in Celle. We didn’t know that it had a waterbedWe found the room very cosy. There are some things to make a stay even better. the undershit is too small, and you find yourself lying on the matress. The nice mugs is imposible to hold, they get to Warg. Finaly there is smell from the sink.
But we really liked to stay here
Many regards
Ulla
The location in the beautiful city center is unbelievable, simply perfect. You can even drive your car to the hotel, and there is a very good parking house near by. The hotel is genuin, matching the style of the city center. Staff is excellent and personal, let's say genuin. A very genuin stay. Strongly recommended.
Lovely little hotel or maybe B & B. The owner looks after you very well. Great small room with good Wi-Fi and a fridge. Outside area had a covered area to sit. Breakfast was early with coffee even earlier. No complaints at all. Shopping complex about 200 metres away
Les is an excellent host and a great human being. Our reservation was for the Atlantic but he moved us to Hotel Village because we would be arriving early. We had a spacious corner room. Shower and bed were great.
