I have stayed here a number of times now and have always been happy with the stay. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Bocholt town, but that does mean that parking is limited and can be awkward to find the first time. The rooms are fine, well equipped and with comfortable beds. The bathroom is great too, with a lovely shower and soft towels.
Breakfast is also good with eggs cooked to order and a cold buffet with a good variety.
I will try and stay here again next time I am in Bocholt.

First, let’s talk about the host! She is very friendly, kind, she was constantly contacting us to check whether or not we needed a cot or when we were coming to explain us several things about the apartment.
The apartment was so nice! It had a little fridge, a microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery. Also equipped with a TV, phone, towels, and things like shampoo, conditioner, soap, cream.
The bathroom was very big and clean!
We are a family with a toddler and a baby and the apartment was more than perfect for us. Definitely we will arrange this apartment in the future if needed.

Bochum is a great bicycle town, bike paths everywhere, there is a real nice lake and park close to town. From the train station or bus station it is only a short ride to Dutch border towns. I loved the little town Aalten, just 20 min bus ride from Bocholt and you can use the Deutschland-Ticket.
Bocholt has great restaurants and a pub scene. I loved the pub Street Life, has a nice beer garden.
There also is a beach club at the Aasee, just a 15 min walk from town.

Lovely City in North Germany, very clean with friendly locals who love icecream and cakes!
I travelled to have dental treatment at Kleinsman Dental Centre and enjoyed the time in Bocholt very much.
Great transport links, people mostly on bycicles.
Good Cafes and Restaurants, great shops.
I would definitely recommend Konditorei-Café Voß, the home made cakes are to die for, my fab was the apple cake.
Restaurants, our favourite was Le Dayo and the Gyoza bar for Sushi and japanese food.
Not many people speak English but we found that people were very friendly.
We stay in the fabulous City Hotel.
Definitely a place to visit .

We went Bocholt in mid December just to escape the Netherlands due to covid and saw that they have a Christmas Market and is located just over the border of Germany (about a 2 hour drive from Amsterdam). Their market is small and on the main shopping street, not tucked in a square like many other Christmas markets but pleasant enough due to weird times. Our room was in a separate building (with parking right in front) as others have reported but I didn't mind the short stroll across the street. I swear we were the only people staying at HW as it was very quiet. Our room on the ground floor was VERY big for European standards with a small terrace with not much of a view but still nice to be able to step outside. Our dinner and (small private) breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating to us non-German speakers and we would most definite;y stay there again. Danke schön Hotel Wintergarten!

Breakfast was good, with the breakfast service exceptional. The Bread/roll selection was great and i personally enjoyed the hot selection. i would have liked toast, but i guess that's more of an English requirement.
i was at the Benning's factory, so the hotel was a short walk away. perfect location.
We got room 23, which was obviously a 1 persoon room, instead of our booking a 2 person bedroom. After telling this to the staff, they just took another bed sheet and that's it. So it was very disappointed. Hotel should have act, they didn't.
