My family and I enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was a decent spread. The first night, my husband and I had dinner and the food was delicious. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was bigger than most other places we have stayed at so that's definitely a plus.

Absolutely perfect location with amazing staff. Friendly, correct and great service. The hotel is located in a vallry without any surrounding buildings, in the middle of nature. The staff invites you for dinner, even when the restaurant is closed, and will cook up marvelous meals with local ingredients, often sourced from their own garden. Tranquility, peacefulness, and great views. I visit about 20 to 30 hotels annually and this might be one of the best experiences I have had in recent years.

We didn't have an itinerary or anything planned out during our trip, we just went with the flow as the day progressed. We visited Altenstein Palace which is such a beautiful castle. I have no idea if you are able to go inside but at the time of our visit we didn't notice any signs are anything to be able to so we just walked around the gardens and park area. We found a few other attractions that we enjoyed. We ate dinner at a local restaurant, AKSU Doner, Pizzeria & Eiscafe, which was reasonable priced, friendly staff, and of course delicious food. They have a big selection of food which was great because I have a picky son. We also got to enjoy some ice cream at a different establishment, Eiscafe Zum Polarstern. We enjoyed the ice creams we ordered.

The staff at this hotel were amazing! Really understanding and helpful in a somewhat difficult situation. They confirmed my belief that Thuringia as a destination generally and the Werra Valley in particular is one of the most underrated parts of Germany.
Also, as everyone else has reported, the breakfast was pretty good. And the bathrooms are big enough to sleep in (I know, because I had to do so).
The hotel is really nice and comfortable, staff very welcoming and helpfull, good facilities, and very good breakfast buffet. The location is also really awesome, middle of the town, and that town is PRETTY. Nice walks all around, I really would have liked to stay longer. Can totally recommend.
We asked for secure parking for our touring motorcycles and they didnt let us down, the hotel is loverly and location great, 10 mins walk and you can find nice restaurants and bars..
The breakfast was very good, nice selection of foods to suit all.
