Very nice: ancient, historic buildings, very green and garden-rich surrounding, a lot of benches to sit down and enjoy the view on lovely river Lahn.
Not so nice: the « heart » of the village called Roemerstrasse shows a lot of closed shops/empty spaces, conveying a bit the « look & feel of a ghosttown ». That was very much different in former times when it was pulsating with a lot of boutiques and other shops.

Bad ems is a very quiet and pretty town, it is very traditional with lots of traditional restaurants in the area. Lovely area to walk around and very quiet and peaceful at night time. People are mostly friendly and say hello when walking by. Worth a visit up the cable car, the view from the top is outstanding. At the weekend you can hire a paddle boat and paddle on the river Lahn. The hot spring is a very cool and has some fantastic history behind it.Overall I found it a very relaxing place to visit

This was an out of place in the hills, but delightful.
This was an out of place in the hills, but delightful. It being a small village with a camping ground at the river. The place was excellent, well maintained, very clean and best of all a large bedroom and very quiet area. An absolute delight, would have loved to stay longer. There were eateries around the area, however this day was a holiday and the only place to eat was at the camping ground restuarant. It was superb food using local ingredients and was certainly utilised by the locals and the camping community. Well worth a visit.

We only had one night here but we wished that we had spent much longer. The hotel is in a lovely quiet spot with fantastic views of the river and the valley. There are lots of walking paths direct from the hotel and the nearby town is pretty and historic. The owner was very friendly and the breakfast was really good. We look forward to returning.
