I loved staying in the self-contained studio on the rooftop of the building. It felt intimate. I also had the whole rooftop to myself, so I had total privacy. Being at the top also meant I had a good view of the sea and the mountains (and lightning and rainbows!).
.
The studio was a prefabricated container, so I could feel and listen to the rain and the wind in a way that I wouldn't have had I stayed in an apartment.
.
I appreciated the wine, snacks, coffee, tea, milk and sugar that were left for me on the studio table as a welcome, as well as the bottled water in the fridge. There was also a large bowl of lovely tangerines left for me on the table which I really appreciated. It lasted me some days.
.
I had everything I needed in the studio. It was also clean. Small space but everything had been thought of and everything fit.
.
The host is friendly with a kind and gentle demeanour.
.
I'm so grateful (and blessed) that this place was home for three weeks. I was at peace here. Pure solitude. (The sea was also a stone's throw away and I could hear it every day.)
.
I hope to return one day.

Hidden gem in north Cyprus!
Lovely people running the hotel, spacious rooms with amazing see view, private quiet sandy beach and nice breakfast.
Located in Kato Pyrgos, 14 miles from St Raphaels Church, E.J. Pyrgos Bay Hotel provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a private beach area and a shared lounge.
On the edge of a forest, this traditional Cypriot stone house offers private balconies overlooking the Troodos Mountains or Mediterranean Sea. It has an outdoor pool and a peaceful garden.
Keep in mind that it is a remote and quiet area. The only (comfortable) way to get there is by car, so renting one is a must or very highly advisable.
The beach is a bit rough and covered with pebbles, like most beaches in Cyprus, but you can still find couple of sandy spots for an easy entrance. You will be there alone most of the time. It felt however that some works are/were under way to make it a bit more "touristy".
There are couple of small shops in the are but I would recommend passing by LIDL in Limassol or Paphos on your way from the airport to stock up major groceries for your stay. You may still buy ice-cream, pepsi and bread in the local shops at twice the normal price :-)
P.S. Sunsets are simply fantastic.

Quiet area, you go to it to get away from everything and everyone, you don't see a lot of people in the streets, you don't hear noises or disturbances, you can hear the sounds of animals, the sea is very beautiful, I haven't been to the beaches but it looks nice and quiet, there is not much to do, There are not many restaurants or cafes, so you should pay attention to this point, and bring some food and snacks.

Pomos is situated at the side of the sea and at the foot of some pine clad mountains so there are some lovely views. Pomos is an unspoilt place, it is how Cyprus used to be before the high rise and large hotels took over - there are none of these in sight! There are several small places that serve traditionally cooked food at very reasonable prices, and a mini market. A short drive down the coast is Argaka, where there are a couple of larger bar/restaurants. Polis is a step further where there are banks, petrol stations, large supermarket etc.
There are uninterrupted sea views that are west facing, therefore you get stunning sunsets

Pomos is a small village with very few amenities. 20 mins drive from the nearby town Polis (Polis Chrysochous). Perfect for a quiet get-away with several villages close by. Plenty of the beaches to choose from and some of the most breathtaking views. Though one definetelly needs a car to get around. Great choice for adult travellers and older children that do NOT need playgrounds and CAN move/swim on their own safely.

Great hotel situated in a beautiful and pleasant spot, run by an amazing host and very friendly staff. Wonderful direct sea view from the room and balcony. Everything we needed was either already there or provided within the shortest time. Also try the fantastic restaurant run by the host family!
Everything!! It’s in a lovely village - Pomos - with amazing beach within 5-10 mins walk! Setting is perfect. House is lovely - well furnished and very clean and comfortable. We were there three adults and 2 children - we all loved it! Owners are superb - bringing fresh fruit and very helpful!
