I had a great stay at Casa Café Mindelo and would totally book it again for a next visit to the island. The location is amazing, in walking distance to the markets, museums and the ferry. There’s a supermarket just across the street. As a female solo traveller I felt absolutely safe here. The staff was super friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the breakfast and also dinner in the restaurant (vegetarian options are available!) Yes, it’s not the quietest location, but I stayed here on a Monday night and the music and sounds from the street didn’t bother me at all.

We only needed a night in Mindelo as we missed our ferry and wanted to be next to the ferry terminal to catch the first ferry early morning the next day. The hotel is nice, modern and clean and a 10min walk from the old town of Mindelo. The small pool at the rooftop with the view of the town was a nice feature.
