Beautiful property and on the a quiet beach. The staff were absolutely fantastic and helpful. The area Catalinas is a tad remote since they are slowly building a small village which am sure will be beautiful as far as we can see. The food at the hotel was not great and the prices are insane. Catalinas is very expensive for being in Costa Rica n out of our whole trip the food was the worst on this part of Costa Rica. I would suggest going to eat at
Potrero beach down the road better food n reasonable prices.

Fabulous service..brought us towels to the pools without request. Breakfast was fabulous and on time. The room was very comfortable and clean. Very nice room coffee and fabulous shower! A few minutes to walk to the beach.

Separate cottages of the hotel provide intimacy. Well thought out and maintained greenery: palm trees, cacti, banana trees, guanaste, flowering shrubs. In the middle is a swimming pool. Without leaving the hotel, we encountered the fauna of Costa Rica: sloths, iguanas, a herd of howlers and other monkeys, birds and colorful butterflies. Our suite was furnished very functionally. The entire facility was very neat and clean. We often enjoyed a very tasty pizza prepared on site.
The hotel has a very good location. Portero Beach is right next door, and about 500 meters from the hotel is Penca Beach with yellow sand, almost empty at this time of year. There are two well-stocked stores and a fruit bazaar within 150 meters of the hotel, as well as several places to eat and a church nearby.
The hotel staff was very knowledgeable, courteous and always available. They helped us resolve problems with the airline losing our luggage and with our car rental.
