Mark, Anabel, and Auxi were wonderful. I was very grateful Auxi was there to make us meals. We had a simple ham and cheese sandwich & fries for lunch and steak, salad, fries + dessert for dinner. If you do not have a 4x4 car it makes it difficult to go up the hill to get to the bungalow so that is the only thing I would make sure you have before coming. But also because of that - we were extremely grateful to have Auxi make us meals and also that it was not a menu so we didn't have to think or choose what to eat, but just ate what was provided. Both Mark and Ana are very friendly and we loved their energy. The facilities were great. We loved the rain and quiet. The view was spectacular waking up. Nortico is very closeby for a nice small walk. So many friendly dogs around! Bonus - the water was a bit low pressure in the bungalow but loved that it got HOT.

The drive to Verbena Norte is a winding one from either the north or the south, but where in Costa Rica do you find a straight road? The area is a little cooler than the valley, which is nice. Views are spectacular around every corner. Many places to eat, from cheap Soda's to upscale Don Porfi. Friendly people everywhere. Highly recommended.
