We landed in San Jose airport around 7pm, and wanted a hotel near the airport for the night, from where we were going to be picked up at 5.30am the next day by a shared taxi. The hotel free shuttle from the airport worked okay.

Great town with both local and national branded restaurants, banks, grocery stores and "Mom and Pop" shops. There is a very small restaurant in Santo Domingo called Soda el Paso. They have the BEST carne en salsa, gallo pinto, huevos fritos, pan y natilla, y cafe con leche in all of Costa Rica! :-)
