Welcoming and generous, Don Lolo is a family-owned business with a fabulous view, excellent breakfast (included), and great people. Enjoying our morning coffee surrounded by toucans, hummingbirds and other birds was fabulous. We visited their cheese factory where the staff generously shared a lot of info on their cheese production. We also visited their green house and garden.

When making your reservation, ask for the biggest cottage possible. Its all uphill and sometimes rainy and foggy when making your way here, and stay on the road ALL THE WAY UP TO WHERE IT ENDS, at the reception, restaurant lodge. This restaurant was a total surprise. The food and service was exceptional. I vote for Jean Carlo as best hotel/restaurant host in the whole country.
The location itself is a destination! We slept in a transparent glamping, it was stunning (you can admire a sky full of stars in the night and the sunrise will wake you up). Nature and colors look in HR. Amazing!
We woke up with sunrise lights, the glamping has a transparent roof, but it's part of the game.
The hotel is pretty far from the main road but easy to reach through a feasible unpaved road (we didn't have a 4*4).
Our recent stay was exceptional. The facilities were in great condition and breakfast was nothing short of amazing - The staff was incredibly helpful and communicative, always ready to assist with a friendly demeanor. This hotel is an excellent choice for anyone traveling between San Jose and Arenal, providing a perfect blend of comfort, service, and convenience.
