Santarena Hotel at Las Catalinas, hotel in Playa Flamingo

Situated in Playa Flamingo, a few steps from Danta Beach, Santarena Hotel at Las Catalinas features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.

Beautiful property and on the a quiet beach. The staff were absolutely fantastic and helpful. The area Catalinas is a tad remote since they are slowly building a small village which am sure will be beautiful as far as we can see. The food at the hotel was not great and the prices are insane. Catalinas is very expensive for being in Costa Rica n out of our whole trip the food was the worst on this part of Costa Rica. I would suggest going to eat at Potrero beach down the road better food n reasonable prices.

Casas del Toro Playa Flamingo, hotel in Playa Flamingo

Casas del Toro Playa Flamingo is located 1 km from Flamingo beach and 4 km from Conchal beach. It features an extensive garden with swimming pool and free Wi-Fi throughout.

Our stay with Casas del Toro was fantastic. Due to weather issues and airport closures were uncespectedly stuck in Costa Rica for 3 more nights than we planned. Casas del Toro was incredibly accomodating, allowing us to extend our stay and providing significant kindness at a very stressful time. The property is gated which made it feel very safe. It is a beautiful, well maintained property. We enjoyed listening to the birds and looking at the many orchids. The room was large, clean, comfortable with everything we needed. The air conditioner worked great to keep us cool. The location was minutes away from the beach and a grocery store. We drove to Potrero, Tamarindo, Brasilito and Las Catalinas with ease from the location. We were only able to enjoy the pool once due to the weather but it was lovely.

It’s a quiet and relaxing area to visit.

It’s a quiet and relaxing area to visit. It’s very hot and very sunny and there’s not much shade on the beach. Be prepared to go through the sunscreen. The beach is clean, the sand is soft and white and the ocean is a spectacularly blue. The surf can be quite rough and it can be difficult to swim, so use caution.

    The beach was beautiful.

The beach was beautiful. There weren't many seashells so this isn't a place for shelling, but they won't be crashing into shore and cutting up your feet either. Our kids played in the water for hours. The sunsets were amazing.

This is a beautiful facility with unbelievable views of the coastline! Close to many good restaurants and beaches. We had a rental car, but could have used the shuttle service more or rented a golf cart.

Idyllic white sand beach with turquoise water, perfect for swimming and boogie boarding. Sunsets are incredible! Coco Locos on the beach has the most delicious hot lava cooked tenderloin that can be ordered as a part of the surf and turf or without the lobster (but avoid eating here when a heavy rain due to sewer smell). Stay in luxury at The Palms Villas for top-notch service and beachfront perfection—well worth the price! Check out Monday Moonlight Market in Flamingo.

Playa Flamingo is a friendly and easy going area with good food options, a beautiful beach and amazing views. It is not too buzzy with tourist attractions which we very much liked about the area. The new marina area is very nice. There are a number of lovely shops, a new restaurant not quite opened and a bank. There are a couple of upscale hotels going up next to the marina. I hope the area can maintain it's small town charm which we found to be perfect for our vacation spot. We opted not to rent a car or golf cart (which is popular) and found the small town to be totally walkable and from town it is just a short walk to the beach. The fine sandy beach is gorgeous and not crowded and the water is amazing with just enough surf to enjoy but still be able to swim comfortably. All in all Playa Flamingo is a lovely, relatively quiet beach area that we highly recommend!

This is an exceptional hotel in every way. The views, the room, the facilities are all incredible. even with a private pool on our terrace overlooking the bay we still used the main pool sometimes, it’s just stunning. but what outshines even the perfection of the surroundings is the staff. They manage to mix a casual familiarity with the utmost professionalism and they’re all just lovely people. They went above and beyond on numerous occasions, just a brilliant stay and we can’t wait to come back

Beautiful property, close to the beach with very spacious rooms. Can easily fit a family of four. Bathroom is also very spacious. Towels and soap provided. We were greated warmly and breakfast was delicious. Fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, gallo pinto and toast. Swimming pool was lovely and warm. Supermarket next door with everything you may need and a 5 minute walk to the beach. 5 minute car drive to Playa Flamingo. Would stay again.

This was a great place to stay with our family. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We arrived late (after the reception desk closed) and were given very helpful guidance on how to enter the hotel after hours. We enjoyed breakfast by the pool. Service was outstanding.

Very beautiful hotel! It is a great option for a long stay (the kitchen is fully equipped and has everything, coffee, oil, salt, to enjoy a breakfast yourself) and also the hotel is perfect for working. There is a supermarket right at the corner, very convenient.
