It's a very clean and well taken care of bed and breakfast. The decor is very nice and boho. The rooms are super clean however a bit on the smaller side.
There were quite a few hot options for breakfast but I think incorporating something like a fruit smoothie would have been a nice addition

We had an amazing 3 nights at Pura Vista. The owner Mark has curated a beautiful and peaceful space. The view is gorgeous (even better in person), the location is fantastic, comfortable and hugeee bed, great water pressure in the shower, and the room has everything you need. Daily breakfast was a plus too, a simple yet delicious typical Tico breakfast, made with love and care. Mark was really friendly and helpful and even kindly allowed us a late check out. A huge bonus was the hotel cats lounging around! Very friendly and sweet. We loved our stay and will definitely return if we’re ever in CR again.

Ocotal beach and the surrounding beaches are mostly for sun-bathing and wading. There are warnings for undertow. The sand is sharp volcanic cinder sand, thus a mix from dust to small stones. I can be uncomfortable to walk on some portions of the beach with bare feet. The beaches are very clean, uncrowded and very scenic. It is easily accessed.

Very few activities nearby unless you want to fish or go out on a yacht.
Father Roosters hours 11-9 serves good drinks and meals at American prices.

Having a car made it possible to visit several beaches in the area-Ocotal , Coco, Hermosa, Potrero, Brasilito and Conchal ( the shell beach!) We loved the bird sounds and feeling of seclusion. Soda Teresita at the Coco Beachfront was good for cheap Costa Rican food. Watch out for the sand fleas at sunset!

We loved this beach much more than the neighbouring Coco Beach. It was quiet, clean and perfect for families just wanting to chill without the hustle and bustle of a crowd.
You can grab a bite to eat at Father Roosters on the beach which has delicious food and drinks. If you can stay to watch the beautiful sunset 🌅

This Bed and Breakfast is excellent value for your $. The location is very hilly so great walks to the beach and up to higher neighborhoods for excellent views. The breakfast was great and an opportunity to meet other travellers. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance and you may need a car or a cab for dinner after dark.
I also took advantage of the day pass at Maracuya - great value to use their pool, beach and restaurant. Its about 20-25 min walk from the Hotel Ocotal.

My stay was too short - would definitely come back again If the opportunity arises. The staff was so helpful, even scheduled for someone from a Lab to come to our villa to take our covid tests for the return home, which was so convenient for us.

The bed & breakfast is in an elevated position overlooking Playa Ocotal and enjoys spectacular views from the terrace. Great pool with loungers and comfortable bedrooms - quality bedding with each having a private outdoor area and patio furniture. Owners are warm & welcoming and very responsive to emails/WhatsApp messages. There is secure parking on site. Ocotal beach is approximately 15 mins away on foot and has a great restaurant, otherwise for the majority of restaurants it means a drive into Coco.Beach.
Super super super!! We had a fantastic stay in this wonderful guesthouse. The room was great, the pool was awesome, the dogs / cats are cute and the kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook. Ocotal beach and beach bar is stunning! Our hosts were super friendly, helpful and interesting to talk to. We had an amazing few days enjoying the area (having your own car is recommended to help get around). Peaceful bliss!
Walking distance from Ocotal beach, the hotel is really quiet.
Rooms are spacious and very well maintained, and the inner courtyard is enjoyable to hang out in at dawn, listening to and/or watching morning birds.
Staff is very nice. They realised I wanted to practice my Spanish so they were very patient with me (while they speak fluent English).
Breakfast is tasty. Would come back.
Such a sweet little hotel! The ladies there making breakfast and giving us recommendations were so lovely and welcoming. I would recommend anyone looking for a little budget-friendly place right near the beach to stay here!
Location and the lady serving a breakfast - very nice and sweet. The hotel is next to the very nice beach Playa Pez Vela with black sand and not far away from Coco Beach.
