I loved staying at Cabañas Cañas Castilla! The pictures don't do it justice. The area is packed with nature and wildlife. Make sure to leave time to go on a few of the hiking trails. Plus, the couple who own the property are so welcoming, each night they, alongside the chef, prepare a family-style dinner for the guests.

The room was very clean and comfortable. It was nicely decorated and had nice touches like shampoo and tea, hot water and a mini-fridge. The location is great, right across from the main park, several places to eat, and a supermarket, close to the Mirador scenic view and one block from the road that goes down to several amazing beaches. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We loved this place and felt at home there.

Beautiful villa we stayed at while attending a wedding at the Dreams Las Mareas resort. The villa is literally across the street from the resort, however note the villa is located up a steep hill so difficult to walk. The villa looks out onto the ocean and it felt very secluded and private. The villa is part of the Costa Elena properties and they have their own private beach club - we didn't use it much while we were there but it looked beautiful.
Our favourite part of our stay was having access to the conceirge service. Juan was always immediately available via What's App and he was able to help us with a variety of requests - e.g. order pizza, arrange transportation to/from the resort for the wedding (due to the steep hill we didn't want to walk in formal attire), and arrange an amazing dinner with a private chef on our last night.
I would HIGHLY recommend the private chef experience. They provide sample menus and you can choose what you'd like. The chef and his assistant arrived at our villa 4 hours prior to dinner time with all of the fresh ingredients and cooked everything from scratch in our kitchen. The aromas while they were cooking were delicious! The chef was able to accommodate several different dietary restrictions (e.g. nut allergy, vegetarian). We had a full dinner with many different appetizers, lobster, steak and fish for mains, and dessert. The portions were generous and we had tons of leftovers which we ate for breakfast the next morning. This was definitely the highlight of our trip!

La Cruz is a beach location that offers a lot to visitors, particularly those who enjoy water sports like kite surfing. The variety of nearby places to explore and activities to participate in makes it a great vacation spot.
One of the unique features of La Cruz is the fact that the water is cooler than in other areas of Costa Rica, which can be both a positive and a negative aspect of the location. For those who enjoy cooler water, it provides a refreshing change from the typically warm temperatures. On the other hand, for those who prefer warmer water, it may not be the ideal location.
Overall, La Cruz is a great option for those who are looking for a beach vacation with a variety of activities and places to explore. Its cool water provides a different kind of experience, and its proximity to other locations makes it a convenient destination for travelers.
I'm sharing some pictures from Nandel Resorts. These are the best prices and the location is great!

Small town in the very northwest of Costa Rica, close to the border with Nicaragua, although it mainly is very sunny during this time of the year, you can sometimes feel a little influence fromt he caribean winds that go through the bilogical corridor from the north from the caribbean coast, which makes it crazy and atractive. Close to a lot of exceptional beaches with very little amount of tourism which makes it more interesting for nature lovers. La Cruz has gas station, super markets, clothing stores and nearly anything you need for your trip in case yo need to recharge ice, beberages or others.

There are many beaches in the area to explore and enjoy. Some are best for walking, others for swimming, kitesurfing, watching the sunset or the stars. It's a relatively dry area, but lots of wildlife to see!
