Incredible location a stones throw away from a private beach and surrounded by nature. We saw macaws, a sloth, monkeys and hummingbirds, lizards, frogs and more. Very secluded and intimate lodging with great service and amazing meals.

The setting of the property is absolutely gorgeous in the beautiful jungle, with many opportunities to see wildlife right there. Erickson and his family go above and beyond with making the stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I was taken on an afternoon walk on my first afternoon to get to know the birds and wildlife. I went without a car and Erickson constantly helped me with taxi transfers, which they run from a separate family business. Maria, the mother, cooked delicious meals from scratch every evening (for the full duration of my 5 night stay) and it was the best meals I had in CR. All my tours were also arranged for me, which were all fantastic. Cannot recommend this place enough!

We stayed here for the last two days of our honeymoon. It was the cherish on top. Very warm welcoming by Hellen and Steven and family. They took good care of us, making sure we had all the equipment for our tour in Corcovado national park and arranged the tour and transportation. The room was very nice, clean and private with a fantastic view. We saw a lot of animals close by. The food was outstanding! The best stay we had during our honeymoon in Costa Rica.

This hotel is not for everyone: located a few km outside the town of Drake Bay in the beautiful surroundings of the rainforest with a true natural feel. Although it is situated on top of a steep hill and parking is at the bottom, the fantastic staff carried our baggage up to the rooms.
The hotel consists of bungalows spread out on the edge of the rainforest, connected by paths.
The atmosphere is magical: the sounds of wilds birds and animals can be heard all the time. The beach at the bottom of the hill is stunning, nearly private.
The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable.
The rooms came with full board - the food was home-made and excellent!
The staff were AMAZING!! Very nice and accommodating - they go out of their way to make everything as welcoming and
comfortable as possible. They try to get us everything we wanted and needed. We booked activities though them, and they arranged everything, including pick-up and drop-off. In retrospect, we should have booked all our activities through them.

Staff did put together a lot of stuff to do for us and every thing we asked for was settled in a record time. We were there for new years eve and the tuna was to die for !!!

Amazing views and lovely rooms. All the staff were incredible.
It was very remote. We spent three nights there and enjoyed early active mornings and chill afternoons with an early dinner and bedtimes. There's not much to do at night which was fine by us. We loved watching the town wake up in the morning. We went diving at Cano Island and loved the turtles and all of the varieties of fish. The water was so clear when we went, it was one of the better diving experiences in Costa Rica so far!

Fantastic stay.
Fantastic stay. Exactly as described except wifi didn't work in our room, we had to go to the office/breakfast area to use it. The views from the room were spectacular overlooking Drake Bay. We had daily visits from capuchins, macaws, parrots, hummingbirds, etc The beds were comfortable as were the chairs and hammocks on the porch. Handrails going up the steep tire steps to the room would have been helpful. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious and made to order.

Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national...
Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national park. Not only Corcovado is worthwhile but Drake Bay itself as well. I would recommend taking the boat from Sierpe to Drake Bay as it’s very convenient and the boat ride is extremely scenic!

The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you...
The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you must visit them with a guide for the appropriate access and to really appreciate what is there. Drake is a the ideal place from which to reach the parks. We travelled to Drake Bay by intercity bus from San Jose and connected with the ferry. The "wet landing" was a first for us - a genuine adventure where the ferry assistants wade your luggage to shore on their shoulders and the passengers just focus on getting themselves to shore. The ferry takes an hour or so through amazing mangroves. Make sure to tell your hotel to book you on the ferry to avoid misunderstanding -- there are only two ferries per day and you don't want to lose a day/night in Sierpe.
The park is amazing --book a tour well in advance as daily entries are limited. Access to the park is by boat. Birds galore, several species of monkey including the mighty howler, tapirs, two species of ant eater, and many more creatures. We did the snorkeling tour too which was also amazing. We saw deep sea turtles, sharks, manta rays and a plethora of species of fish. Beautiful, pristine and rules about not interrupting wildlife. For example, we were watching a turtle and she started to rise for air and we all had to move back 4-6 metres and we had the joy of then watching her float on the surface for a while and just rock in the waves. The town, while not a secret by any means, has still avoided the trappings of rampant tourisim. There is a local vibe that is genuine and refreshing.. I like that the town is still a bit rough on the edges.
The abundance of world class outdoor experiences is the icing on the cake.

The pool, great staff, very good restaurant inside the hotel (and they accept credit card with no extra fee). Petra the owner does a quite amazing job in organising the ferry from Sierpe to Drake Bay and picking you up at the beach. Especially because it is not so easy to get there this is very helpful. And a special thanks goes to the waiter in the hotel restaurant, he was so kind. :)
The location in Drake is really good, as its on a steep hill and Casa Jade is not far from the beach. There are also lots of nice cafés and restaurants around. The room is good, with a large comfortable bed and a bunkbed. The room has airco and a fridge and coffee/tea maker, and a nice little patio with view of Drake to drink a beer in the afternoon!
Amazing location. There was a river right next to our room which you can follow to the beach. During the night it was quiet.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel was delicious and had good prices.
Rooms were comfortable and clean. The air conditioning was working fine. They accepted credit card payment which was convenient.
Hotel Jacamar is located perfectly, close to restaurants and 10 minutes walk from the beach. The room was very clean, spacious and had all facilities needed. Breakfast was very good. Our stay was already 10/10, but I would give extra if I could for the excellent staff. Extremely kind and helpful. Thank you!
