The woman at the reception was unprepared and did not make an effort to investigate or check with supervisors the tax exempt policy for US citizens traveling with US passports. She does not understand that immigration authorities do not stamp passport when using “biometric line”.
We had to cancel our reservation and look for another hotel where we didn’t have the same problem. We have stayed in Dan in Bogota and Cartagena with NO problem at all. I nfortunatelly The problem in Ibague was the lady at the reception.

Pleasantly surprised with this place. There was a festival and the city was packed, but the hotel was clean and the staff was very attentive.
