The views are incredible - WOW! So tranquil, just in the hills with amazing views and hearing the birds chirping all day long. The bed was very comfortable, the room clean and shower nice and warm. There was free coffee in the morning and the food was very nice, and free water during your stay. The pool area was lovely and got sun most of the day! The WiFi worked better than expected, not strong enough for a video call but we managed to stream the football with a bit of buffering !

We had a really lovely peaceful stay at Sol de Minca with our two boys aged ten and eight. It is in a beautiful location up in the mountains with amazing views and beautiful birds. Minca town is quite busy and hectic and this felt like a calm retreat away from the hussle and bussle. You can walk up here from the main town, but it is quite steep if carrying bags (or you can come in from the main road entrance if being dropped by taxi) . You basically walk down through Jungle Joes hostel to get to it. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and helped adapt the menus for the kids who liked slightly plainer food. The lodge was great with mossie nets and comfortable beds.

The most amazing relaxing spot up in the hills, surrounded by trees and birds, the view was unbelievable. We had a lovely breakfast sat on the terrace in the sunshine and delicious dinner served in the restaurant or in the room - our choice.
There was a small crack in one of the domes panels which as soon as we raised the staff came and did a fix.
They also did a fabulous job of cleaning the room (which we didn’t expect on Xmas day and had left bags and clothes everywhere). A perfect relaxing stay with great hosts.

Not really what I have been told. I was expecting an “hippie vibe place” but more than hippie it is a bit unkept.
Try to spend time in nature but avoid the waterfall everyone one goes to. It loses all the magic and silence of the place.

BEWARE UPPER ACCESS ROAD as shown as only one by GPS Google Maps!!! Scary and if you have any incident you are 2 hours walk away from hotel... who will tell you as they did to us: you should not come here by car, and NOT via Upper Track. Use lower one at La Vittoria....
Food on site is average. Staff correct with no excess of smiles. Room fine - no hot water so better a swim in pool than cold shower 😳
No hiking trails only the access roads
Clientele around 30´s with a noisy group on 1st evening

Lazy Cat Restaurant is a surprising and excellent find.
Lazy Cat Restaurant is a surprising and excellent find. Minca is backpacker 20 something heaven. Lots of green. I suppose there are some great hikes. Once you have seen a bit of the world it can get repetitive. I probably would not go back. 2 days is more than enough (of course depending on your situation and expectations). Yet another good place to meditate and be with nature.

It was an unforgettable experience walking through nature, seeing the rivers and waterfalls. The variety of birds, the tranquility of being surrounded by so many sounds, breathtaking sunsets. I truly enjoyed the whole experience and place. Will do it again, highly recommended.

Lovely place to see birds, swim in some waterfalls, have some good coffee and chocolate on farms, get some craft beer. Very hot though— stay hydrated and pack sunscreen. I would recommend this place and advise hiking around to enjoy the nature.

Loved Minca so much.
Loved Minca so much. The town feels very catered to tourists and it was hard to find a cheap, local restaurant with a menu del dia for example but there are lots of good western-ish options and the wildlife/surrounding area is so beautiful. Highly recommend the Cerro Kennedy hike (stay at El Ramo) too.

Very nice and pleasant accommodation. From the beginning, I was informed by the owner of the accommodation, Luis, about the options for traveling to the town of Minca and also for traveling from Minca. I received valuable information about things to do or see in the area. The host spoke fluent English, which was highly unusual in Colombia, and we appreciated and utilized it even more because of that. Everything was great, and we would return again.
The staff here were absolutely amazing and friendly. Dorms suprisingly comfortable (though curtains for the beds could be nice) with solid shower and bathroom facilities. Location along the river was great, though a walk out of town. Pool and hang out facilities were also solid - though mostly used by Colombian families visiting on holiday on the weekends. Food was good if on the pricier end for Colombia. Overall a nice stay.
This was by far the best place we stayed in Colombia! We absolutely loved the room (jacuzzi was a plus!) and the incredible views of the surrounding mountains. The viewing platform 5mins walk away was the best spot for a 360° mountain sunset! Erica was an absolutely fantastic host, she was really communicative and helped us with transport and local activities. We loved the dogs! Food was also delicious.
Beautiful location, incredible sunsets with Santa Marta lit up below and most delicious and beautifully presented food we had in Colombia. Amazing place for a 3 night stay just be prepared for the 4x4 30 mins journey to and from Minca. Pillar is an excellent hostess.
Probably one of the best hostels I stayed in in Colombia and great value! Would highly recommend. The food is good and I would also suggest doing the waterfall hike.
