The hosts were very friendly and made us feel like home. They talked to us a lot and gave us many tips for things to do in the area. Everything, it’s difficult to choose something. Starting from the accommodation, you could see the care they put on building each cabin. The Colibrì cabin has stunning views on the river and the surrounding forest. Waking up listening to the sound of the river and the birds is unique. Pablo and Melissa welcomed us warmly in their hacienda, speaking about Colombia, its nature, its people and its food in a passionate way.
We did the permaculture tour with Pablo who walked us through every sector of their farm speaking in details about native plants and their future plan to expand the farm and you could feel his passion about preserving indigenous plants and protecting the environment.
Also dinner and breakfast were cooked with love with super local products.
In addition Pijao is really a gem, away from touristy places. It’s a pity we spent only two nights there. If you have a chance, book your stay here and you wouldn’t be disappointed!
