My stay at the hotel was amazing mainly thanks to the girl who works at the reception. She welcomed me like a member of the family, took care of everything I needed, helped me get tickets to the parks, spent a lot of time explaining to me about the routes in the park, showed unusual patience. A very well-kept and lovingly run homestay within walking distance of the less crowded Westgate. The homestay is very clean with modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. The house was built with a lot of wood, which spreads a warm atmosphere and a very pleasant scent. Fresh fruit and tea are always available.
But above all, it is Mery who makes this homestay so special. She speaks good English and knows the national park inside out. With her help, we immediately found our way around and made great tours right from the doorstep.
In addition, she is a very good cook and we can also recommend her cuisine without reservation.

We loved this location so much we changed our travel plans...
We loved this location so much we changed our travel plans to stay another night. This area is incredible. There are three parks to visit, the Forest Park (Avatar mountains), Tianmen mountain (thousand stairs), and Glass Bridge. These three sites offer a huge range of activities and natural beauty to appreciate, you could easily spend a week or more here, I think. There is also excellent infrastructure and accessibility accommodations, many of the trails were partially or entirely wheelchair accessible, with many transport options for guests who cannot or do not want to take the long hike to viewpoints. Good for all levels or activity and for children.
Be sure to try the local tea shops! Zhangjiajie is known for its tea production and the tea sellers were all very friendly and willing chat.

The parks are absolutely gorgeous.
The parks are absolutely gorgeous. My favorite place was Tianmen mountain. I was here for a week and unfortunately it rained almost every day. The places are really beautiful, but this place is EXTREMELY touristy. A lot of the places/areas (especially the glass bridge) felt like what I would describe as “Nature’s Disneyland.” You get to see beautiful sites, but from the fenced pathway that you’re on. Having to pay a bunch of money for every place also takes away the magic a bit. It’s also incredibly hard to get pictures without other people in them. And then there’s the “queues.” You will not be alone. I would still recommend going, but if your goal is to go somewhere peaceful, and to escape to nature this is not the place for that.

I was here for one and a half days only.
I was here for one and a half days only. I came here on a high speed train from Changsha, it took only 2 hours. First day I spend the evening at Baofeng lake, it’s was really beautiful, and costs 110 ¥. You will have a transportation from the gates to this lake and then a boat trip around lake. Such a nice view!!! Next day I had a hiking in the national park. I was walking really fast but still had enough time to take pictures everywhere so I can see all the spots in one day. I started from elevator and then went to the top of the tyanzi mountain and walked down it. And then I went to the oxygen square and had a cable up to the mountain.

The shop owner's English is particularly good, which is not easy in China. She will explain the map to us very carefully. Breakfast is very rich, and I will recommend it to my friends. The only downside is that the restaurants recommended by the shop owner are all in Chinese style, with affordable prices but very spicy and not delicious

Very nice landscape - impressive mountains - Tian Shan and the park. Verry Chinese organization for millions of tourists. Limited space for individual "advanture". I intendet to cycle to the Tian Shan mountain, but this was not permitted and secured by a guard. Nevertheless a interesting place.

What I liked the most was the staff. We arrived very late (midnight) due to a delay with our train and the staff managed to book us a private driver to pick us up at the train station. Then, they bought for us the tickets to Zhangjiajie's National Forest Park and suggested the route we should do.
He also indicated were we could have some late dinner in the area (just in front of the street).
The room was nice - we had all we needed just to sleep that night and wake up very soon to go hiking.
The staff are amazing. Rebecca and her family are really nice, charming and friendly people. They go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. They provide taxi services if asked for, and they also provide meals which are delicious. The rooms and the hotel in general are spacious, clean, and tasteful. The area is also fantastic and it is located quite close to the East gate of the National forest park. We would give it an 11/10 if we could :)
If I could give an 11/10 for the staff I would. I was very confused as to how to get from Zhangjiajie West train station to the hotel. Two staff members came to pick me up. They also arranged an early check in, and helped me book a taxi to Wulingyuan and another one back to the station the next day. The room was beautiful and clean and the hotel was just a 20 minute drive away from Wulingyuan which is a cheap taxi trip.
The guy on reception is very helpful, he has supported us in organising of our traveling in Zhangjiajie. The hotel has a good location, about 15 minutes walking to West Gates if National Park. Hotel is rather clear and you can find something to eat on breakfast for European travellers.
It is a nice hotel in the middle of the mountains at around 1200 meters altitude,next to running waters and near the Zhangjiajie park entry.They serve extra-ordinary dinner and delicious breakfast.The employees are very friendly.An absolutely must for everyone that visits China
