We have only booked to stay in Holiday Inn Express during our 15 days trip in China. I would say this hotel needs an upgrade especially the bathroom compared to the others which we have stayed. Location is good, about 10 minutes walk to the nearest subway station and nearby to shops too.
We found a good Chinese restaurant which is only a block away serving Beijing Duck at a reasonable price; the lady boss is very generous and friendly. She told us about the Agriculture Temple nearby.

I cannot say anything else but that I had a very pleasant stay. The staff went above and beyond their duty. I wanted to upgrade my room and they provided another one with no issues. I really much appreciated the courtesy the stuff reserved me: they have been extremely nice and I dare to say friendly. They also organised for me an express delivery for some of some of my belongings that I forgot upon my leaving on an early morning, to the following hotel in Shanghai and I received the parcel in 1 day. Also, they sorted out a problem with the tax when I experienced an Alipay malfunctioning. As a solo traveler these characteristics are simply priceless! In addition, there is a restaurant connected with the hotel where they serve a fantastic breakfast ( both Chinese and European) and, in general a great food. Again, the staff there is exceptional as well; I had dinner there everyday after full busy days wandering in the fantastic Beijing among its people. I left there friends! I am planning to go back asap and I will definitely book at the Zhong An Hotel as the location is also great.

The staff are amazing! Really helpful and kind. The location is great and loads of places nearby to eat. Also very convenient for metro. Lovely old hutong vibe in the alley outside. My room was 3rd floor so light and airy and view over rooftops. Great showers. Good value.
