The only aspect of this hotel more lovely than the views, the comfort, and its elegance, was the staff. They were so lovely and always wanting to accommodate any inquiry. Andrea and staff are marvelous! The Friday and Saturday evening tea service are such wonderful touches!

FAQs about hotels in Valparaíso
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Valparaíso this weekend is $97 or, for a 4-star hotel, $112. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Valparaíso for this weekend cost around $118 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
There is no denying that this is a gritty place. Don't walk around at night; don't hop in just any cab. Use Uber when it's dark; they're inexpensive. I recommend the "free" walking tours from either Plaza Sotomayor or Plaza Aníbal Pinto. The guides will navigate the city's streets and shortcuts for you and you won't have to worry about safety. Two nights should do it. Pablo Neruda's house and museum are a short walk from the hotel; it's a safe walk during daylight. It's ≈ $6 each way by bus from the Pajaritos station in Santiago. I'm glad we (mature couple) went.

Very busy city, a little difficult to get around (definitely avoid driving if you can), with lots of fun places to discover and a few major highlights, including La Sebastiana, one of Pablo Neruda's houses, and the Palacio Baburizza.

Valparaiso is a lovely artistic town.
Valparaiso is a lovely artistic town. We enjoyed our day there. The area of Valparaiso we stay in was very walkable, although you can call for a cab for going further out. We enjoyed our stay at Casa California and the area around it. We ate at a little Cafe, Maria, Maria for breakfast on Beethoven Street, just a few hundred feet from Casa California. And you can take photos of the piano steps and walk up them. We had dinner at a bar and restaurant just up the hill and around the corner, a block or so over. We also had dessert at a cafe across the road from there.

The guide books are not cortect regarding the preservation of architecture in the lower area, but areas as Concepcion are great. Take the opportunity to visit Vina del Mar and make reflections.

Valparaiso is a vibrant colorful mountainous coastal town which we really enjoyed. There were several hillside dining options with fantastic views of the port town. Color murals painted on the buildings and walkways throughout town were fantastic, and added to the overall vibe of the city.

Cool city with an artistic vibe, lots of street art, young and older music artists etc.
Had a guided tour around and would recommend that to get a full view of the old-part of the city.
Also check out the live-music scene, had a great experience going out to their live-music bars/ open mic gig and it was high level.
I did not experience any bad, but they say don’t go alone home at night, it can be a problem with theft.

Fabulous location; gorgeous views (we booked the balcony room on the top floor, which arguably has the best view in Valparaiso. We visited in winter and can highly recommend keeping the blinds open to be gently woken up by the sunrise through the floor-to-ceiling windows); sleek and modern but comfortable and very fitting design; perhaps the kindest, friendliest and most accommodating staff we’ve met yet in Chile (and that’s saying something, as everyone is delightful!) - honestly cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
This quirky guesthouse is in a residential neighbourhood. The rooms on the top floor have ensuite bathrooms. The rooms on the lower floor have private bathrooms down the hall from the sleeping accommodation. There is a patio off the upper storey and a fridge accessible for all guests (handy for chilling delicious Chilean wine). The breakfast each morning was delicious, and the staff were very helpful. Well located for venturing out to explore Valparaiso, this guesthouse was lovely.
A wonderful boutique hotel ideally located in the heart of the historical district of Valparaiso. Catalina was very helpful in recommending different restaurants (the best was Maralegre which happens to be nearby). She even gave me some coins from her own wallet to take the ascensores as I did not have pesos with me. Everything served for breakfast is home made, and you can tell. I can only highly recommend this place when staying in Valparaiso
Small hostel with good vibes with only 6 guests, so plenty of freedom. The location was nice with lots of cool art and the hostel itself had everything you need, bed, kitchen with facilities and good WiFi. The staff and owner are great. Cheapest place in Valparaiso and you get a beer at check in if you wish.
