Great city in South America, excellent infrastructure, easy transportation, organized and clean in most places. Great malls and great restaurants, average cost for dining (for big cities in SA). And with a bonus of easy access to gorgeous views in many places of the Andes. I have not been here in Winter, so it could be even better with ski stations working.

We stayed in the Lastarria barrio and it was a exciting, buzzing neighbourhood filled with street vendors and restaurants. We ate out every night and found great food. We visited the main city plazas, many museums and art galleries, the central market and ascended Cerro Santa Lucia. It was all excellent. We got around by Uber and used credit cards everywhere.

Great city but scary with pick pockets and phone snatchers!!!! ☹️
Especially in downtown Centro area and Plaza de Armas
my phone was snatched by a guy dressed in motor bike delivery garb with a red delivery bag on his back at 3.30 pm from a walking tour I was on with 15-20 other people. So very scary and stressful. I heard the same story from other people after so BE VERY VERY CAREFUL

Fantastic museums, art spaces, architecture and parks.
Fantastic museums, art spaces, architecture and parks. Fascinating city with rich history but a modern edge with great cultural offerings. Something new on every street. However don’t be too ambitious - take your time and pace yourself!

It's a nice city, although perhaps not vibrant at night as other capitals in South America. Even people from Santiago tell you that the best of the country is either in the North or the South, mainly if you are looking for natural beauty.

Public transport is very impressive and integrates surface with underground services like european or American transportation services. Surface traffic can get very congested and becomes so slow that sometimes walking was the best option.
Every place that I went to eat had good tasty food with reasonable prices with nice friendly service.

I am not afraid to say, that it was to nicest accomodation in which I have ever stayed. For sure, someone whould say about the luxury hotels etc. But this house, our room, location and communication was amazing! I have to really say thank you for amazing time Santiago, because this hostel was very big part of it!
A small boutique hotel in a funky part of town so surrounded by quite a number of good restaurants and a 15/20 minute walk to downtown, graffiti covered, Santiago centre.Staff were very helpful and friendly.Internet worked well.Rooms were very clean and modern although not so big.
Location was fabulous easy to visit by metro from the airport. The staff were cordial but not as helpful as in other hotels in Chile or indeed Santiago. The room was a nice size and the shower was amazing, especially after a long day exploring Santiago.
Good hotel in quite area of Santiago. Best thing was the rooftop swimmingpool/bar/restaurant. Sun almost entire day and until 2100hrs. at night. Free coofee and water in lobby area:-) Walking distance to several atractions.
we were looking for a stay in Santiago because of late arrival and early departure from the airport. Reception is 24h which is great. Hotel staff was very helpful and kind.
