Punta Arenas is a great town to stay in for a few days.
Punta Arenas is a great town to stay in for a few days. It served as a jumping of point for our visit to Isla Navarino and Torres del Paine Park and various "penguin tours". Nearby hikes and historic sites were also of interest. Restaurants are plentiful and good value. Seafood is the best! Uber is cheap and available for the city.

Smack on the Strait of Magallen, the city has seen it's fair share of sailor history. A great promenade to take walks on, the city is safe, peaceful and lively at the same time. If I could come back to one city, and only one city in Chile, it would be Punta Arenas.

gorgeous little seaside town. it's a nice respite if you're doing some serious hiking up in torres del paine, and i'd definitely spend a day or two walking around the main street and by the seaside.

It really is only a place to go to other better places in Patagonia. The restaurant scene is not great and there’s really not much to do there. I’d say use it as a place to stay overnight to go somewhere else but if you do don’t expect to find any great options for food or entertainment.

A great (very windy) city at the end of the world.
A great (very windy) city at the end of the world. Close to breathtaking scenery (Tierra del Fuego, Torres del Paine) and historical sites. The city felt secure. The fish market offers amazing good value dishes (no vegan options:(). There are good walks close to the city (a national park 15 minutes by car). Punta Arenas is easy to navigate on foot if the weather permits - the wind can bowl you over!!!

Wonderful place! So nice, convinient and well-kept, that we had fantastic stay there. The hosts are very friendly and protective. Fresh fruits, home-baked bread and chilean wine was waiting to welcome us :) I would recommend it to everyone!
Comfy typical Chilean hotel. Excellent location, and the folks who run it are very friendly and helpful, even at odd hours. Good place to spend a couple of days. Bring cash to pay with (CLP / USD / EUR).
The owner and his daughter were very nice. The daughter spoke English, which we learned is not very common in Chile. Since we did not speak Spanish, having someone who spoke English was very helpful.
Excellent choice in punta arenas. Room was large, clean and warm. The attention to details and the wonderful decor are such a delight!
Breakfast was amazing, the best we had in chile.
