I loved the style of the dorm bunks, felt very private, safe, and comfortable. The hotel had ample storage and a great kitchen and lounge as well. Showers and toilets were also great. Location was perfect as I came by train! The lady at reception was so helpful and helped me plan my days out to make the most of my stay.

Le Petit Charme-Inn was by no means the fanciest hotel in town, but it's tucked away off the main drag making for quiet evenings. Welcoming staff offer excellent suggestions on activities, rental options, restaurants, and more. They'll give you free drink vouchers on days you forego room service--quite a deal in an expensive resort town! Complementary breakfast in the mornings also helps keep costs down. While perhaps not the most extensive breakfast menu in the world, you can enjoy toast with jam, meats, coffee, and of course a variety of delicious breads! Not to mention, fresh fruits, boiled eggs, among other options. It's a fine alternative to a $30-40CHF breakfast at any of the local bakeries. Free wifi and ski/snowboard/boot storage are also deluxe features. Views from the roof top were also spectacular!

Beautiful little mountain village in the shadows of the mighty Matterhorn mountain. I loved that there is no car, it preserves the village and creates a nice atmosphere.
The ski resort is one of the best in the alps, and gastronomy is amazing (many restaurants on the slopes are graded on Gault&Millaut). This all comes definitely at a price premium but it is a once in a life experience.

Zermatt is an exceptional location with a history for high end winter sports and arguably a cost to match. However, subject to taste and flexibility, there are opportunities for purchasing local food and products to prepare and eat at "home" rather than going out, making any budget go further.
It is worthwhile buying the Swiss Half Price card as it will significantly reduce the cost of the transport to get there but also to the cable cars and mountain trains.

Zermatt is a great little town with top notch skiing and snowboarding! Pricy but no more so than major US resorts. It's also easier to get around than many of the major US resorts--there's no driving, parking, futzing around. No matter where you stay you're likely pretty close to a lift or funicular.

If weather is clear the trip to the top of the Gornergrat on the train is a great way to start a ski holiday, enjoying the scenery and the experience of being surrounded by big mountains. Huge variety of skiing to enjoy in Zermatt and exceptional mountain restaurants; expensive for UK travellers but very high standards of food and service. A day out in Valtournenche/Cervinia opens up some easier skiing and some good Italian food options.

The town is picturesque, easy to get around, has great choices for dining and shopping. We had some great meals--lots of schnitzel (great for kids). Our favorite restaurants were: Whymper Stube (very Swiss with schnitzel and fondue); Chez Gaby (cozy restaurant that specializes in grilled meats) and Zermama (excellent veal schnitzel and potato salad in a modern but very cozy atmosphere). As for getting around, the town is very walkable, but the E-taxis (no cars allowed) are always available. The children enjoyed the skiing, the indoor pool and checking out all the gift shops and especially the chocolate stores. They also got to watch some curling and ice hockey games.

Nice and comfortable hotel with a great location (10 min walk from the train station), lovely touches everywhere, the place with a family business history and at the same time really modern. Really nice administrators can help you with everything and advise what things the best to do in different weather conditions. We also liked the breakfast. SPA is a great bonus. At the end of our stay hotel taxi drove us to the train station. Definitely recommend this place :)
First of all - the staff, these guys and girls are really making this place special. Service is top quality. Another good things - SPA area, outside pool, nice saunas, relaxing areas. Very good hotel's location, just few steps form the ski lift + from the bus stop which takes to yet another ski lift. Breakfast - one of the best I had, there is everything you can think of.. just great, really liked the reserved table which did not change for the whole stay.
The best feature of the hotel is the Matterhorn view, truly breath-taking on a clear day, the hotel is located in an excellent elevated position. The Spa facilities are incredible (5 star hotel quality). The breakfast was superb too with great range of choice. Also great to have a little surprise/drink if you don't have your room cleaned daily.
I booked it for my friend coming from England, it was their first time in switzerland, And They told me it was the "BEST HOLIDAY" , mostly staying in this hotel we've booked for them they've enjoyed a lot. Thank you so much 💝🥰
