Kartause Ittingen is a truly special place.
The old monastery site has a cluster of beautiful buildings, lovely grounds and is perched high on the valley side such that there are fantastic views all day long. I walked up the steep hillside vineyards one morning and it was magical.
The breakfast and evening meals were healthy, with lots of variety and high quality.
The room was minimalistic, with clean lines, gorgeous furnishings and beautiful materials (lots of natural wood).
Also loved that they had a book on steps to reduce your environmental footprint in each room. Hats off, Kartause Ittingen!
The modern Hotel Frauenfeld is located on the outskirts of Frauenfeld, a 5-minute drive from the city centre and a 25-minute drive from Zurich Airport.

Everything was great - location, staff, clean room, and delicious breakfast. We had a pleasant stay.
Situated in Winterthur, 32 km from Zurich Exhibition Hall, Gasthaus Schlosshalde features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

A lovely surprise indeed. The castle and the restaurant was a pleasant surprise but we couldn't enjoy as we were staying for the night. We will hopefully have the chance to stay overnight and enjoy the restaurant and the wine testing.
