The property was very clean, the accommodations were excellent, and the hosts were very friendly and informative. Breakfast was reasonably priced and was very good (homemade by Brigitta).

The location of the hotel was exceptional. You can enjoy the alpine beauty from the balcony. Close to the hotel there was a souvenir shop which was also nice. Hiking area to Fronalpstock view point is nearby and you can also take the cable car. The staff were nice and friendly and helped us to correct our plan to visit Lucerne. The interior design was so nice and unique. Overall, this was the best hotel experience for me in Switzerland.

Booked accommodation at Muotathal for an activity that I offered my husband for his birthday. 3 hours experience with husky dogs including interacting and sledging. The scenery is lovely and the area is full of old legends. Swiss folklore is well hankered with not too many tourists.
We stayed in Muotathal to do the hike in the Hölloch caves, which are not far away. The hotel was conveniently located and very comfortable - and if we would decide to visit the area again, we would have no hesitation in booking at the Gasthaus Post again.
Claudia and the team were friendly and helpful. And the breakfasts and dinners we had at the hotel were very good.
We also travelled with our dog, who felt equally comfortable in the room!
The location in general is the best thing about this hotel. The staff were very busy as there were lots of local people eating there when we arrived on a Friday evening. They were efficient but not overly welcoming - probably because the place was busy.
Everything was great! I'd recommend it to friends! Great apartment for families with small kids. Muotathal has some nice playgrounds, also the Chäferliweg in Illgau is super nice.
