For the price the facilities were excellent. The room was simple, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional.
The Hotel du Faucon with its 23 spacious rooms can be found only a few steps from the city centre and the train station, in a quiet, cobbled and pedestrianized street.

At the time of booking I was assured that there was a safe in the room. Unfortunately this was not the case. When I mentioned this to reception they were very apologetic and readily offered free breakfasts as compensation for the incorrect information. This is a positive in terms of customer care.

We really liked the room per se: spacious, well decorated, nice modern bathroom. The staff was very nice and the overall position was okay (bas ville so it is in the lower part of the city whereas restaurants are in the upper part) and quite quiet.
The bas ville is easily accessible by bus or funiculaire (we also walked which is nicer going down)
The ibis Fribourg offers good access to the A12 motorway, the Forum Fribourg exhibition centre and the city centre. The train station is just a 15-minute bus ride away.

Rooms were very modern and extremely clean.
Location is by a main road but the rooms are very well sound proofed so you can not hear any traffic noises.

I enjoyed exploring the old town and also some other places within easy reach by train including Neuchatel and Murten. I also enjoyed eating at various cafes and restaurants close to the hotel. I would particularly recommend the Cafe Du Midi just a short walk from the hotel especially for traditional Swiss food such as fondue.

A beautiful and historic city with so much to see.
A beautiful and historic city with so much to see. Transport yourself back 100s of years at the ramparts or city hall, or the church of St Nicolas. The old town has some great places to eat and drink. The city is centrally located on the main train line from Geneva to Zurich.

Not always possibly to find balance in Switzerland in the city with placement practically in city cent.
Staff was so nice and gentle. Hotel is located in good area for walking around old Town and not so far from main train station. The room was so clean and had small kitchen. Very happy 😊
