A mini adventure to get to with a carloading train (Lötschbergtunnel) on the last leg if you are coming from the northern part of Switzerland, which was easy and fun. The location is absolute paradise, with snow covered high peaks, forests with gigantic trees, hiking paths everywhere, and (perhaps the best highlight) an ice blue creek rushing with soul cleansing waters day & night. It's a valley of beauty.

The hotel is convenient for those visiting the Matterhorn and also allows time to explore the village and do some shopping. I liked everything about this hotel, except for the rain shower from the ceiling. Although there’s another handheld shower, I found it confusing to figure out how to switch between them.

The hotel location is very convenient to the train station and to several nice restaurants. It is also right next to the Bahnhofstrasse, the main shopping street in Zermatt. Gornergratbahn, the best access to views of the Matterhorn, is right next door to the hotel. Our balcony provided an excellent view of the top portion of the Matterhorn, which allowed us to get some beautiful photos at sunset. The front desk and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast had a very nice selection of baked items, fruit and juices.
Our experience of Blatten was amazing! We were blown out by this little gem! We went up the cable car, had some drinks, came down and some more by the restaurant across the street. From our cabin we walked down to a restaurant and had a food experience of a lifetime!
