I visited in the summer while travelling through the Alps and I wish I had stayed here for longer. Bettmeralp is such an idyllic village - there are no cars here and the only sound you can hear are the cows ringing their bells. The hotel was excellent, great room, great breakfast, very friendly host. Would highly recommend!

Very nice hotel, forthcoming personnel, delicious breakfast. No pool in sauna but that didn’t matter. Warmly recommended, this place has a welcoming vibe!

I didn't meet with the property owner but they gave us full information online and everything was as they explained.
The apartment is located in a small town on a mountain. Which you need to park the car at Betten talsation and go up with a cable car for less then 5minutes aprox. Bettmeralp is car free.
Once you arrive to Bettmeralp, just enjoy the scenery. It was spectacular and truly one the best location we had form our road trip.
The apartment was comfortable and spacious and clean. WiFi, bathroom with shower and hot water, kitchen, tv..... Comfortable beds.
You can find coop market and some restaurants and a pharmacy. Everything you need.
Highly recommend. We wish we could stay longer there.
Bettmeralp was a fun place to visit for skiing. Exceptional scenery. Food was a good standard although a bit pricey, similar to everywhere else in Switzerland. There are two good supermarkets in Bettmeralp if you want to cook in your apartment. Good experiences with equipment hire and ski lessons. Some places only spoke German so you'll want some German ability or rely on translator apps (which is what we did).

Not sure what to expect Bettmeralp was a charming village, with plenty of now even in late March. The scenery was spectacular, the hiking and skiing areas excellent. The local restaurants produced delicious food and the staff were helpful and efficient. A great place for families, couples or singles. Well worth the trip!

Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp are a combined ski...
Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp are a combined ski resort: the Aletsch Arena. Mostly downhill skiing with mostly biginner (blue) to intermediate (red) pistes. Some short blacks. In Fiescheralp sector, theEggishorn cable car (great views of the Aletsch Glacier from the top) was open in dec 2021 but a landslide had damaged the black downhill piste.
Good point of view of the Glacier behind the Bettmerhorn summit restaurant.
Food is a real problem in the whole resort. If you don't self-cater, you might end up without any dinner because you didn't book a table in the morning or even the day before.
And if you aren't the die-hard 2 times a day meat eater, and worse if you fancy being a vegetarian, you will have trouble finding food at all. If you ever find some vegetarian plates in some restaurants (rare and very dull), the experience will be made worse by the stink of hot stone grilled meat at the neighboring table.
However if you like eating meat as if there was no tomorrow, this is the place.

A well integrated set of three villages, mainly intermediate...
A well integrated set of three villages, mainly intermediate skiing with a couple of black runs. Two or three panoramic pistes which are very spectacular scenically but one has a bit of poling. You should do it once for the views though. Saturday saw a lot of day skiers from the locality but the rest of the week was uncrowded except for the odd queue of a minute or two, but most lifts are 4 or 6-man detachable chairlifts that have high capacity. Eggishorn cable car has a small capacity but was never crowded as there is only a black piste from the top. Bettmerhorn has a telecabine but more runs from the top, which are Red except for the tunnel which leads to a black mogulfield (but it's possible to walk back if you don't fancy it) It's definitely black when unpisted! In the village there's a sport centre with pool and ice rink, and the church has concerts most Wednesdays.

Lovely village in the mountains - car free and arrival by cable car made it feel quite special. Fantastic mountains walks and scenery, easy to reach the Aletsch Glacier - which was truly magnificent and a must see.

The place has basically no disadvantages.
The place has basically no disadvantages. A car-free resort with a number of ski-lifts and gondolas to get You to as high as 2600 m. above see level. I definitely recommend a trip on foot on the path along the glacier. For dinner I encourage to try a trout (forelle) from local lakes and ponds.
The breakfast was excellent, amazing variety of food and drink, excellent quality, amazing bread selection, great coffee. Nicely refurbished hotel, very clean. Convenient ski storage and excellent heated boot room. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay special. Even the other guests were very friendly to us! Ski in ski out location of the hotel was a big bonus and great setting right in the middle of the village.
The kindest atention to every detail on the service by the owner made us feel so good!.. By the whole staff too, they really took care of us on a very friendly and professional way. We have enjoyed our days in Bettmeralp like never in Switzerland, and came back home with a warm and smily hearth, despite the crazy weather this summer. A three stars Hotel with the experience of a 5 Superior. Thank you!
It was a charming old-style hotel. The hotel manager was very kind, friendly and cheerful. She fetched us from the Gondola Station herself. The room was comfortable enough. I believe the hotel was one of the first hotels at Bettmeralp.
The breakfast was nice. The staff replenish the supply frequently. The location of the hotel is perfect. It's just a few minutes away from the start of a hiking path and a beautiful lake, yet it's a bit away from the crowd.
